1971 Triumph Tiger TR6R
We purchased this bike with intentions of fully restoring it to show condition. After a good start on restoration ( see photos ) we have decided to turn our attention to older models, and are offering this bike for sale.
This is not a combination of odd Triumph parts. This is a 38 year old motorcycle with the same frame and engine as it came from the factory with.
Upon receipt from the previous owner we engaged Triumph expert mechanic John Skinner of Skinner Motorcycle Shop in Auburn, Alabama to inspect and tune up this bike. Correct tires were installed, new clutch plates, plugs, battery, etc., were installed and the bike test run.
Fuel tank and fenders were removed, stripped, primed, and painted with materials supplied by Don Hutchison. Tank neck was braised to tank and tank interior sealed.
New turn indicator and stop light units were installed, along with new instrument rubber housings, throttle and brake cables. Foot peg, crank and shift rubber parts were replaced.
If you are new to the Vintage British Bike world please understand that this is NOT a Jap crotch rocket. It is a thirty-eight year old classic motorcycle and should be treated as such. If you don’t understand what I am saying, PLEASE DON’T BID!
If it can be demonstrated that the photos shown are not of the motorcycle you receive or that the above statements of condition are untrue, you may ship the bike back to me and I’ll give you your money back. Otherwise, the sale is final.
I’ll help you arrange for pick-up here and assist loading, etc. All delivery expense is yours.
This is a sound, well running bike with a reserve (don’t ask) that is much lower than this bike would bring at auction. It will make a fine addition to someone’s collection. We don't play the "second chance" and "buy it after the auction is over" games. If you want to buy this bike BID on it.
