This Pearson 30 is an affordable, timeless, simple, and beautiful yacht.  The Pearson 30 has long been a favorite for people who want to cruise in style without a lot of maintenance.  She is bright, fast, simple, and very spacious.

She has been hauled for the winter.

Layout:

Forward is a V berth with room for two people over six feet.

Just aft of the V berth is the head.  There is a marine toilet that is plumbed to a 20 gallon bladder, as well a hand pumped sink.

The main salon is bright and spacious.  Recent blue cushions throughout the boat add to the clean, simple look and feel of this boat.   A table drops down to create dining service for up to six.

The port bench pulls out to create a double berth.  There is a pilot berth aft on the port side as well.

The galley is simple and functional.  It includes an Origo Alcohol two burner stove, a large cooler, and plenty of storage.

The cockpit is huge, with plenty of room for six. She has tiller steering.  The tiller is in great shape.  There are cushions for the cockpit.  They are older, but in very good shape.

All of her wood trim is in great shape, but could use a sanding and a nice finish.

Hull/Decks:

Her topsides look fantastic as do her decks.  She has very little crazing on deck.  Her hull to deck joint shows no signs of stress.

Sails & Rigging:

Sails:

Main:  it is an older sail, but in good shape.

Genoa: hank on, appears to be newer than main, and in very good shape

Jib: Hank on and also in very good shape.

Blue sail cover, also in very good shape.

Mast:  Her deck- stepped mast is in great shape.

Standing rigging: All standing rigging is in great working order.  Her chain plaits looks good, well bedded and show no sign of water leakage.

All winches are in great working order, and are well lubricated.

Running rigging: Her running rigging is in good to great shape- including halyards, sheets, blocks etc.

Stanchions:  All stanchions are solid, and well bedded

Engine:

She has a well maintained Atomic four engine.  The Atomic Four has a well deserved reputation for being a great, long lasting, reliable, and quiet engine.  We started, ran, and engaged the engine.  It started right up, ran beautifully, and went into gear perfectly.

Electrical/Electronics:

She has a very simple two battery system running all lights, electrics, etc. batteries are charged by the Engine alternator, and there is an isolator switch.

Equipment:

Standard Horizon VHF radio

Datamarine Depth sounder

Kenyon Speedo

Two Saturn compasses

A few extras:

Two Danforth anchors

Fire extinguishers

Life jackets

Throwable pfd

Extra lines and fenders

Winch handles

Swim ladder

Ensign and staff

Projects/Issues:

Take her for a sail.  She is ready to go.

Earlier we noted that she needed a scrubbing.  That has now been done.   She is now very clean, and shows beautifully.

Terms of Sale:

Synopsys:

This auction is for a charter to own agreement.  The winning bid is the entire cost of the charter, as well as the buyout option.  There are no hidden fees.  Payment terms are often open to negotiation.

Because this boat was donated, it is part of our three year charter program. At the end of the three year charter period, the high bidder has the exclusive option to purchase the boat. All charter payments go towards the purchase price of the boat.  The purchase price will be determined by the high bid of this auction. 90% of the winning bid will cover the three year charter period and will be due at the signing of the charter agreement. The remaining 10% balance of the high bid will be due at the termination of the charter should the winning bidder exercise the option to purchase the boat at the end of three years. The lease may be transferred or sold by the charterer during that three year period, but we still hold the title.

Therefore, our buyers pay 90% of the full price for, and have full and exclusive use of, the boat during the three year charter period. During the charter, the boat will be registered by us for the winning bidder. The winning bidder will be responsible for the cost of registering and insuring the boat. There are no restrictions on where the boat is berthed.

For example, a bidder bids $20,000 and he wins the auction at $20,000. He then pays Block Island Maritime Funding 90% of the selling price ($18,000) and we hold the title for 3 years. For those 3 years, the boat is officially chartered to the high bidder. During which time he can operate, repair, or restore the boat at his own expense. At the end of 3 years, he can pay us the remaining 10% ($2,000) and the title to the boat will be transferred.

Please don't hesitate to contact us about our charter program and to read a blank copy of our charter/purchase agreement, visit our eBay page by clicking on the read "me" next to our feedback score.

The high bidder assumes responsibility for moving, storing, and maintaining the vessel.

Block Island Maritime Funding offers the details of this vessel in good faith, but cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of this information nor warrant the condition of the vessel. A buyer should instruct his agents or his surveyors to investigate such details as the buyer desires validated before bidding. This vessel is offered subject to prior sale, price change, or withdrawal without notice.

A deposit of $500.00 is due within 3 days of the close of the auction. The balance is due within 10 days of the close of the auction. We accept PayPal, cashier’s check, money order, cash or bank funds transfer.  Please note: due to Ebay’s new policy on buyer feedback, we have been getting worked over the coals on people making bids, winning, then dropping off the face of the earth.  This leaves us with two weeks before we can put a boat up again. If you see a boat go, and you think you missed it, please call anyway.  You just might still be able to get it!  If you are one of the people who bids and drops, please note YOU WILL BE BLOCKED FROM BIDDING ON OUR BOATS!!!!!

Vessel comes "as is, where is" with no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied. However, we would be willing to make the sale of this vessel contingent upon your survey. Survey must happen in a timely manner. Winning bidder must pay any hauling or transportation fees incurred.

SECOND CHANCE OFFERS: We've been having a problem with people offering fraudulent second chance offers after the auction is over. Anyone bidding may receive what looks like a legitimate offer for a second chance after the auction is over but if it doesn't have my email address (ebay@blockislandmaritime.com) then it didn't come from us. Please report all fraudulent second chance offers to eBay.  If the second chance offer does come from the above, it is real.  The best thing to do is to contact us via ebay messages to confirm.  We usually check our messages twice a day.
