YOU ARE BIDDING ON A
NATIONALLY KNOWN CELEBRITY CAR, this is a 1978 Special Edition Y/82
Trans Am matching number engine with the 6.6 (400) 220 HP engine.
Matched to the Borg Warner Super T-10 4 Speed transmission. This car
has been autographed by a true legend Burt Reynolds. This is the actual
car that was loaned to the YearOne Company in GA for Burt Reynolds to
drive while he was in GA helping YearOne design the new “Burt Builds a
Bandit” car. This car has been featured in two editions of HOT ROD
magazine. August of 2007 and January of 2008. The August issue shows
the car alongside the new YearOne Bandit car (as shown in my pictures).
The car also has the following TV credits: HOT ROD TV: the car was on
the Year One Bandit Run show that aired in 2007 on ESPN2 this car was
the one that did the burn out and donut that they showed 3 times during
the show. It can also be seen in various driving scenes with Burt
Reynolds driving it.
DIY “BURT BUILDS A BANDIT”
SHOW: The car was taken to the airport to pick up Burt Reynolds for the
show, in the show you can see him riding in the car and pulling up to
YearOne and saying “Hey guys” he drove the car and rode in it several
times that day. You also see him sitting on the hood of the car in a
grassy field during the show. After the show, he personally autographed
the dash of this car with a permanent gold paint marker, which I also
have and will let go with the car (as shown in my pictures). The car is
also shown riding down the road during the show. The show aired several
times in 2007 and was a five part series airing on DIY television. I am
sure you will see the car several times on the upcoming shows of “Burt
Builds a Bandit” with YearOne.
STACY DAVIS GEARZ: The car was
sent up to Nashville to do a show with Jerry Reed and the new YearOne
Bandit, this show aired in January of 2008. I could not get Jerry Reed
to autograph the car because he said his hand shook too bad. However,
you will see him with the car several times in the show.
CALENDER: The car is in the 2007 Trans Am SE
calendar.
OK now for the car, it is a true PHS documented
Special Edition Y/82 Trans Am commonly referred to as “Bandit Edition”
the car runs and drives out like a 2008 car with no issues (very
tight). The engine and transmission have been completely rebuilt 3,000
miles ago, the engine has been bored 0.30 over, and the ram air 3
camshaft installed (sounds great). Everything was replaced when the
engine was rebuilt water pump, fuel pump, etc. The transmission was
rebuilt at the same time the engine was done. The transmission has all
the new following parts: all bearings, small parts kit, new forks, new
slider hubs, new 1-inch cluster pin, new synchronizers, all new seals
and gaskets and yes I have receipts for all this. The rear end is the
original 342-posi unit and is in perfect condition with no issues or
noises. All the brakes and master cylinder are new.
The interior of the car is in
excellent condition as shown in my pictures. The paint on the car is 7
years old but still looks great. The original space saver spare tire
and jack are in the trunk as shown in my pictures. I also have the
original Hurst T-Top bag that is in mint condition. As for the rims,
they are the original 15 x 7 inch snowflakes, which have been sent off
and completely restored I then bought new the original stainless center
caps and had new BF Goodrich tires installed. The tires have 95% tread
left as shown in my pictures. As for the exhaust, it is also all new;
it has 2 ¼-inch pipes and 2 chamber Flowmaster mufflers with the
correct dual chrome tail pipe tips. All gauges work except for the
clock. The car has the 8,000-rpm tach and 160 mph speedometer. You can
also go to www.yearone.com and look at the comparison pictures they
have of this car with the new YearOne Bandit. Also, notice all the RARE
FEATURES this car has: Hurst Hatch T-Tops, low profile shaker with the
center ridge in it and uncut. Factory GM AM/FM radio with CB built in
the radio and yes, it all works great. 8-Track player (currently not
hooked up). And rarest of all, the factory rear center console in mint
condition, these alone are selling on eBay for almost 1,000$ when you
are lucky enough to find one in this kind of shape.
These are all the pluses about the car, now for the
few flaws it has. Sometime before I bought the car it has had lower
patch panels put in the quarters. Other than that, the car is solid. If you have
noticed in my pictures the AC compressor is missing from the engine, I
do have it and all brackets I just have not put it back on since the
engine was rebuilt. This would be a great investment for someone to
own, it is one of a kind and to our knowledge the only 1978 Trans Am he has ever autographed and only will increase in value. This has
always been a dream car I wanted and I said I would never sell it, but
I am getting married soon and the wife to be wants a new house, so the
car must go, isn't life grand!

I have all pictures of him signing the dash and
the pen that he used to do it and the TV movies of him with the car at YearOne
also an authentic signed autographed picture of
Burt Reynolds from the first movie Smoky and the Bandit. I also have
the original shirt and hat he wore during the TV filming “Burt Builds a
Bandit” with YearOne. All of this is shown in my pictures and goes with
the winning bidder.Keep in mind I have seen 77 and 78 Trans Ams that are this nice sell on eBay for between 40,000 and 50,000 dollars and they don't have the history this car does. I feel with that being said I have priced this car very fairly.

with an enclosed or open trailer your choice.
