This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION and will be sold to the highest bidder regardless of the final price. There is NO "buy it now" price so please do not ask.
Up for auction is a 1979 Bertram 35 Sportfisher with twin Cummins 555 V-8 diesels that is located in Marina Del Rey, CA. It was donated to a national charitable foundation. It is in good condition and shows some minor aesthetic wear as to be expected on a 30 year old boat. Surprisingly the wear is limited to cosmetic issues and there are no real signs of any physical or mechanical issues other than what is shown in the photos. For the most part the vessel appears to have been well kept and is certainly in sea worthy and solid condition. The engines start/run but we do not have any information on recent service history, last rebuild, etc. However, a survey was performed by a licensed marine surveyor on August 10, 2009 and details the condition of the vessel in its entirety. The main report has been copied below.
Since the boat was donated there is no further information other than what is provided here. The marine survey is the only inspection of the vessel. The auction will start at $500.00 with no reserve. The pictures are fairly detailed. If you need a specific picture please send me a message and I will do my best to accomodate you. If you are a local buyer you may make an appointment to view the boat by calling Justin Silvers at 310-880-2719.
The boat is sold in as is and where is condition and is currently moored in Marina Del Rey, California (Los Angeles Area). Transportation is the responsibility of the winning bidder. Please ask ANY questions prior to bidding. Good luck!

MARINE SURVEY REPORT #359082 Continued: Page 5 of 5
FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
A) Violations of
1) Replace
pump.
structure, seaworthiness, or watertight integrity:
the broken hands on the through hull for the bait
B) Violations of U.S.C.G., N.F.P.A., A.B.Y.C., and/or other safety
standards:
1) Provide boxes for the batteries. Boxes should be of a
corrosive resistant material and at least 3" deep.
2) All fire extinguishers must be mounted in conspicuous
positions.
3) Provide a current emergency distress signal (flare) kit.
4) Provide a throwable life ring and carry in a position of
readiness while underway.
C) Other findings and recommendations:
1) Play was found in the ends of the ruder tie rod. Shim or fir
larger pins/bolts. Continued play may exaggerate the problem.
A few gel coat fractures were noted in the cockpit sole and a
few around the cockpit rail. These areas were sounded and
none were found a threat to structure.
2) The anchor was found slightly bent though not enough to harm
structure or function.
