I’ve owned this car since 2000.  Since I’ve owned it I’ve put on about 9,000 miles.  I haven’t had a full work over on the car in 5 years but did it before I started storing it more The value of a Delorean is increasing daily my service guy said I should fix the few cosmetic things and put it in a museum.  This car is in very good condition inside and out an 8 to 8.5 on a scale of 10. This car is in sound running condition. This car starts and stops well and driving it is a blast.  The suspension is a tight and the car drives like a sports car should.  The important part of buying a Delorean is making sure you are getting it in running condition or you’ll spend thousands of dollars getting it running.  Even though this is an older car replacement parts are easy to find online.   This car has a clear title.  The service has been done on it at a local garage.  It’s very easy to maintain. 

-Exterior-

    The body appears to be all original and is in flawless condition. The stainless steel is free from any dings or dents.  You will find two areas on the body where you will find paint, that is the front and rear fascia.  The front fascia has some discolored paint.  The lover in the back is cracked on one support and the gas pistons to hold up the cover are soft.

     The gull wing doors operate with the driver side sags a bit in cold weather but the passenger side stays up. All the glass is clear. This car has been garage kept all it’s life and since I’ve owned it it’s been in a climate controlled garage and covered. 

-Interior-

     The grey leather seats were replaced by the owner before me along with the head liner above the drivers and passenger seats.  The remaining headliner should be replaced but is in passable condition.  This is common in cars from this period.  The radio does work but the extendable antenna has come off its track.   The car has a pleasant Delorean odor.  The A/C blows cool not cold.  The dash isn’t cracked but does show a small amount of sun discoloration.  The blower motor works, it has 4 settings and the number 3 setting works sporadically but 1, 2 and 4 work every time.   The electric side view mirrors, windshield wipers, horn, headlights (both bright and dim), rear defrost and both power windows work.  All other mechanicals are functioning.

     The original 2.85 liter 6 cylinder engine starts and runs strong as ever. The clutch is strong and the manual transmission hits each gear. There are no strange noises or vibrations from the engine.  You can hear a small exhaust leak when it’s idling.  The car runs well on the open road but does not like hot summer days in stop and go traffic.
