***INTRODUCTION***
A beautiful Mercedes SL convertible complete with hard top. In 1992 this car cost $97,000. Nearly 2 decades later, it still has a level of refinement you won't find in lower tier sports cars. I've heard it said that a true sports car is a two-seater drop-top which you could use on the race track in a pinch. That definition fits this car to a tee. The luxury-car seats make cruising a dream, and the powerful V-8 engine pushes this 2-ton roadster like a rocket. 16-inch Z-rated tires stick the car to the road like it's on rails and the automatic transmission is smart enough to realize that flooring the gas pedal means "go as fast as possible". This SL is in excellent condition for a 17-year-old car. Mechanically, everything works. Electrically, everything except the cassette deck, blinkers and high-beams work. The aftermarket 10-disk CD changer works great. The fully-powered convertible top works like the day it was made. The A/C works. And, of course, the engine, transmission, brakes, etc. are all in perfect working order. This car is rust-free and the paint and body panels are nearly perfect. It has two small dings (one on the passenger door, one on the trunk). Both are shorter than 1 inch and only visible when the sun hits it just right. The bottom of the lower cladding and one wheel well show some scraping. The rest of the car has some minor scratches in the paint from overzealous cats in my garage. The interior is in decent condition. The leather on the driver's seat is showing some wear and some of the plastic trim pieces have age cracks. The carpets are in good condition. The original floor mats are in place.
