Here is a great deal for someone. This is a specially ordered Bluebird bus that was fleet owned and operated until just a couple years ago when it was retired and replaced. From dry and rust free Colorado, this bus has only 116K miles. Basically new tires and brakes, overall great shape and cool looking to boot. Not to be confused with the much more common school bus configurations, this bus has the larger and more powerful 8.3L Cummins C series mated to the 5 speed Allison World Transmission with 6 stage retarder. This tranny is a significant improvement over the earlier MT643 series since it has an overdrive. This bus will cruise easily at 65-70 MPH. It climbs hills like a scalded cat and comes down the other side without ever having to touch the brakes. I have climbed Monarch Pass here in Colorado in this bus and easily topped it at 40+ MPH!  It also has the insulation package and an additional chassis heater. No A/C, but lots of windows and a roof vent. It had been equipped with a Ricon wheelchair lift, but that has been removed and is not available. There is a trailer hitch already on the back ready to tow whatever.  I have removed the seats, but they come with the bus. A couple are missing as are a couple sections of the overhead grab rails. It has a small dent in the LR radiator access door that could be replaced easily, or left as-is. One flat glass panel in the front door is cracked.

  This bus runs, drives and stops fantastic and I feel it could be driven anywhere just as it sits. It starts instantly at the turn of a key and runs like a wristwatch. Does not overheat when climbing or idling. It is the perfect candidate for your project due to its low miles and rust free condition.

  If you have a bus based project in mind, don't let this bus get away. It is priced right and is ready for conversion. Unlike many (if not most) busses out there in this price range , you won't have to spend lots of time on mechanical issues just to make it home. This rig is priced at virtually the value of the transmission alone!!!
