Toyota made the these for the Landcruiser only, the only problem is when they made the key they did not make is strong enough for everyday use. These keys are know to break easily if you drop them in the cold, or if you kid decides to throw it across the room. The shell you are bidding on is a high quality aftermarket shell, and a nickel steel blade that carrys a lifetime warranty against breakage.  If you have damaged your current key all you will have to do is insert your transponder into this key, have it cut, and you are all set. There is no programming required as long as your transponder was working properly before.  Please check with a dealer or a locksmith in your area to make sure they can do this for you.

It is a good idea to always have a spare key. If you lose all your keys it is going to cost you big $$$$ to have your computer system replaced. I speak form experience since I use to work for Toyota. We had many customer that had to have their Landcruiser towed in because they lost their only key. By the time a tech replaced their computer system and recut keys, they were spending close to $1,000. I carry a full line of transponder keys in my store, so it might be a good idea to pick up another to be safe. If there are none listed then I am out of stock, please check back later.
