All of SMEV’s products are made of 304-L category stainless steel, a type of steel engineered for heavy industrial applications. To ensure maximum resistance against stains, SMEV also chooses the 18/10 alloy, that is a steel formulation that guarantees 18 parts of chromium and 10 of nickel; a very expensive metal. Sheets of steel that measures less than 1/32nd of an inch are given form and style by proprietary stamping equipment and 55 years of metallurgic experience. The resulting products are strong, durable, light and free of any wrinkled or shaded areas. It is at this point that to create its ranges and cooktops, SMEV adds another key ingredient: JetFlow. Unparalleled gas burner technology covered by worldwide patents. To give an example, SMEV’s ranges are 30% faster and consume 33% less gas than competitor models while delivering much higher temperatures….up to 480 degrees. JetFlow burners also hold the record for the lowest Co2 and Co emission. While both of these gases contribute to the greenhouse effect,the latter is also a toxic gas. Since all SMEV burners and ovens are equipped with a thermocouple device, should the flame go out, gas flow to that burner would automatically be closed. SMEV has been using linear brass valves, on all of its burners for over 25 years. Aside from the fact that they are more durable than the aluminum ones used on most US models, linear gas valves make cooking easier because they allow for fine tuning of the burner flames. Because the cooktop burners are sealed, made of stainless steel, and feature small separate grates, they are very easy to clean. The PI8022 features 2 variable size JetFlow burners, one 47 and one 62mm. The PI8022 also has a thermocouple safety device on every burner.
