Beautiful Pearl Yellow 5th Generation 2000 Honda VFR800FI. 17,076 miles. In very good to excellent condition. The only thing the bike needs is a valve adjustment, which many VFR owners put off until the 30,000 mile service, and 9 times out of 10, everything is STILL within spec. at 30,000. Most don't need adjusted until well past 60k. The bike runs fine and there are no issues. If I were to keep the bike, I personally would not even look at the valves until 30k, but that's just me.
Metzler Roadtec tires have approximately 1,600 miles of use. Previous owner just had a $800 tune up performed at the dealer before I bought the bike from him. I have owned the bike for less than a year, and am selling to pay for another bike I am interested in.
Many VFR purists agree that the 5th Gen is the best VFR ever made due to the satisfying sound the gear driven cams make, plus the 5th Gen is slightly lighter and more powerful than the new 6th Generation. Plus, you could only get yellow for one year. One day down the road, this may be a collector's item. Cycle World and many other motorcycle magazines have given the VFR one of the "ten best" motorcycle awards for many, many years. It's a great all around motorcycle, and if you're reading this, you probably already know that.
The exhaust note is just right in my opinion. The V&H slip-on is not obnoxious at all. The fuel-injected V-4 sounds like a small block Chevy at idle, and more like a F1 racer on top. The bike sounds as good as it looks.
Extras include:
SW-Motech side racks
GIVI hard bags with 2 keys
GIVI touring screen
Tank protector
Vance & Hines Titanium S4 slip-on
Heli Bars on top of Gen Mar risers
Factory passenger seat cowl (not pictured)
Flaws:
There are a couple thin spots in the paint due to the previous owner using a motorcycle cover. There is also a very small scratched area on the left lower cowl. There are also some flaws in the paint around the bolts that stick out near the passenger seat area from tail bag bungee hooks.
There is no evidence of the bike ever being in a wreck. No cracks in plastic, no rips in seat, no dents in tank, no scrapes on levers, bar ends, fork legs, engine case, etc. Other than the minor flaws in the paint, the bike is in very good to excellent condition.
I am starting the price low for a quick sale. I will not disclose the reserve amount, but I will tell you it's a good deal below book price, not even counting all the add-ons. I just bought a ST1300, so I need extra funds to complete the sale.
Bike is located in Front Royal, VA 22630. Feel free to contact me for inspection of the bike. Local pick up only, please.
This is a very nice machine, and the new owner will be quite pleased. Good luck bidding, and thank you for looking.
- Kirk.
I am also selling the '07 XR650L in the background. Please check my other auctions if interested.
