Notes from Bryan (Owner and Lead Tech Support operator for Integration Solutions):  "A few years back GMC started using whats called a Data Bus system.  They first made the Class II system, and recently have changed over to what is called the GM LAN system.  These new Data Systems have changed the way a radio is installed.  Your vehicle does not have a switched accessory power (ignition wire) behind the radio.  Not only that, but when you take out the radio, a number of things do not work properly.  PAC has figured this out for you ahead of time, and made this interface to assist you in retaining your valuble factory features such as Onstar, Door Chimes, and much much more.  When you replace a radio with a interface like this one, you will be able to retain all of your factory Data bus features"

Will this interface allow me to install a nav system in my vehicle?

This interface is compatible with ALL aftermarket radios.  Including Navigation Radios, if you are installing a Navigation Radio, check out our NAV-1129 interface, CLICK HERE.  The NAV-1129 interface will create a VSS wire for your navigation system to operate correctly.

What is a VSS wire?

VSS is short for Vehicle Speed Sense.  The VSS wire connects to the Nav system to let you know how fast you are going.  Without the proper connection, the Nav system will not work properly.

Doesnt my car have a VSS wire on it?

No, the new GM LAN radios have a Data Generated VSS signal wire.  That means that you have to somehow tap into the computer system just to use it.  Thats why the VSS interface was designed.

Do you have a interface that I can use with this one to retain my factory steering wheel remote control?

Will installing this on my vehicle void my cars warranty?

No, it is illegal to void a warranty on a car becuase you are installing a aftermarket device.  Please know your rights before letting anyone tell you any different. 

Do you know of a place to get this installed at?

Great question.  Some people that buy from us, follow the installation instructons and good judgement to make a great installation.  If you dont want to do the installation yourself and are looking for a good place to install this just e-mail us at sales@integrationsolutions.net with your city and state.  We will try to find someone for you.  On another note, we are always adding installation places to our recommended places.  Check our known installers list, CLICK HERE.  Often times, installers may not have much experience installing interfaces like these.  If you are having this installed professionally, please give them our contact info, CLICK HERE, when having them install it.  This way we can answer any questions they might have.
