A very common problem on the 7.3L Powerstrokes is that the main connector at the valve cover melts down. This connector handles the current for both the glow plugs and injectors (both of which are under the valve covers.) The purpose of this kit is to repair the connector on the outside of the valve cover which is really a part of the engine wiring harness. This will save you big $$ as opposed to buying a whole new engine wiring harness. Often times when this occurs, you will also need to replace the valve cover gasket, and the internal harnesses under the valve cover as well to prevent a repeat failure (sometimes the failure is due to oil seeping into the connector). You might even think of replacing the glow plugs while you have the whole thing apart (especially since a shorted glow plug occasionally will cause the problem). We also carry a "meltdown kit" in our Ebay store, which includes all of these items in one package.
This kit will work on 1994 an through 1997 7.3L Powerstrokes ONLY. If you have a 1997 model you need to check how many electrical connectors you have per valve cover. If there are two connectors per side, this is the kit you need. If there is only one, see our Ebay store for the later model kit.
This kit includes four connectors with about 8 inches of wiring. This is enough parts to repair both sides.
Note: Heat shrink tubing shown in picture is not included.
Please bookmark our Ebay store for your Powerstroke and other diesel needs! Thank you.
