Before you buy an aftermarket exhaust bracket, be sure what type of aluminum it is made from. These brackets are made from 2024 T3 aircraft grade aluminum. Many people will claim "aircraft grade aluminum", but there are many types including 6061 which is way too soft, but cheap, so most are made from this. 7075 is very hard, but brittle and known to crack. And then there is the just plain old aluminum which beer cans are made out of. Some sellers even claim they are made from "billet" which really shows they have no idea about the product they sell. After racing several years as an AMA superbike privateer on a GSXR 1000, we realized what worked and what did not. Our SV brackets are designed just like the GSXR's.
