Recently I removed the APS-20A Radar Unit from it's protective wrapping to be able to photograph it for this ad.

The APS-20A is a high-powered Airborne Early Warning Radar System that was used in Anti-Submarine warfare - Most likely in a plane similar to the Neptune aircraft shown above.  This system was capable of detecting and mapping targets located within the search horizon determined by the altitude of the airplane. The information thus obtained was reproduced on two PPI scopes within the plane; as well as being simultaneously relayed by radio relay equipment to some remote point, and being reproduced there.

 

Here the Radar is shown with it's top removed (Aircraft Fasteners)

The APS-20 Radar system was used in a variety of aircraft - But primary in Anti-Submarine warfare.  This unit has been packaged and is in NOS condition in its original packaging.

It measure approximately 24" across by 12" tall and about 20" deep - and weighs approximately 65 pounds.
