Vehicle History Report Summary for 1976 Alfa Romeo Spider
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1976 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Convertible VIN: AR3049133 Here’s a nice Alfa 2000 Spider Convertible we’ve acquired and can now offer our great Ebay customers. The car was sold directly to our dealership by its long-term owner here in the Seattle area who’d been driving it locally for over twenty-four years. Please contact Mark at BEST AUTO with any questions. My direct phone number is 206/914-1173 anytime. You’re welcome and encouraged to make an appointment during business hours to inspect this great little car. Here’s a little background on Alfa’s most popular convertible: The original Spider was only in production for a year, replaced in 1967 by the 1750 Spider Veloce, powered by a 118 hp 1779cc engine. In Europe this was fitted with two twin carburetors, whereas models for our market had SPICA mechanical fuel injection. Modifications were also made to the suspension, brakes, electrics, wheels and tires though the car looked effectively the same. Visible differences were limited to the rear-view mirror repositioned to the door, and different badging on the tail. The car's official title was 1750 Spider Veloce, the name Duetto being dropped from this point on. In 1970 the first significant change to the exterior styling was introduced on the 1750 Spider Veloce, with the original's distinctive elongated round tail changed to a more conventional cut-off style, called the Kamm tail, which arguably made the car look more modern. Numerous other small changes took place both inside and out, such as a slightly different grille, new doorhandles, a more raked windshield, top-hinged pedals and an improved interior VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: What a fun car! My plan was to sell this back in May, but when summer came we just couldn’t part with it. Both my wife and I have driven it every week for the past four months. Climb over, under and throughout and I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? Please, this Spider hates rust and you won’t find anything to really worry about here. Yes, the Puget Sound area is famous for rain, but our winter roads are never salted. We only have one or two days of light snow each year. Everyone panics and stays home. Besides, I know this car hasn’t seen a winter road in years. The odometer reads just over 22,000 miles though I’m sure these can’t be original. The 2000 cc 4-cylinder injected engine starts immediately and runs great with lots of power. The five-speed gearbox shifts smoothly. A black Haartz fabric convertible top has been fitted and could stand to have a new rear plexiglass window installed and a couple of small patches at fold points. I’ve owned a half dozen spiders over the years and am finding that I appreciate the more “vintage” appearance of the pre-80’s interiors with their chromed triple center dash gauges, big barrel-like tach/speedo pods and their Hellebore wooden steering wheel. CONDITION: Overall, this is a clean, nonsmoker Convertible. I take great pride in the vehicles we sell and feel that you should know as much about the car as possible. Accordingly here is a list of the good and also things needing attention: All the glass is in great shape. The door panels and carpeting are original and in OK, decent condition. Hop in, fire her up and this car starts almost instantly, even when cold. I took the spider out today for these photos and cruised at 65 MPH for about twenty miles. What a difference having that fifth gear in the transmission makes! Nice, strong clutch too! There is no noticeable body rust or rot, just really, really tired blue paint overall. Re-spray with a nice base/clear next spring and you’re set to go! The front fenders, doors and floorpans all appear solid, in fact the entire undercarriage is in great condition for a 34-year-old car. The 14” factory Campagnolo wheels are all straight and true, and the existing Pirelli P4000 tires are all about 70%. Take another good look at the interior photos. The upholstery has split seams on both the drivers and passengers seats. The pictured Aussie sheepskin seat covers have been in place since we’ve owned the Alfa. I’m sure the carpets and door panels are original and are still very serviceable. NO cracks to the dashtop at all! I want you to BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a nice car, however, please don’t be upset if I miss a few more minor flaws or you are required to spend a small amount on an unforeseen problem! No used car is ever perfect. I want you to be happy with your purchase (and with me) and that is my main goal! As outlined above, please contact Mark here at BEST AUTO with any questions. My direct phone number is 206/914-1173. You’re welcome and encouraged to stop by during business hours to inspect, drive and make an offer. If you’re thinking of bidding on a comparable MG or Triumph of similar vintage, you really owe it to yourself to drive and look this unique piece over first! Please BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a nice vehicle from a respected Ebay Seller. My main goal is be sure you’re happy with your purchase - and your dealings with me – with the hope that you’ll be back again for another and pass my name & number along to friends as well. Please Note: WE will NEVER, EVER “shill” or falsely "bump-up" an auction (a violation of eBay rules and also Federal Law). Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that new eBay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid. If we don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. The phone number to talk directly to me, as outlined above, is 206/914-1173. Please feel free to call any time during the auction. My name is MARK THOMPSON. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: Please check the photos over closely and call with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! You’re encouraged to inspect the vehicle at our premises on weekdays, so send your representative early to be sure you don't miss this one. We reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have any negative feedback. DEALERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO BID AS WELL! Additionally I reserve the right to end the auction early if the Grand Wagoneer is no longer for sale because we’ve accepted someone’s offer here locally or otherwise. A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s end. Because of the high fees they charge, we accept PAYPAL for the deposit only. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven days unless prior arrangements have been made with us. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold, inspect or then come test-drive the vehicle later (You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends). If you do decide to have the Alfa shipped home, there are numerous vehicle transport companies to choose from. We ship vehicles regularly and I'd suggest that you get a transport bid from www.U-ship.com. Transporters will bid delivery of the vehicle and you'll be able to choose who you want to use. As an alternative, you might also get a quote from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). They're Ebay's preferred transporter and have a link attached to the Ebay Motors home page that I suggest looking at (see link below). The zip code for pick-up would be 98028 to get an instant on-line quote from either source. The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. Here’s the DAS link: http://pages.motors.ebay.com/services/das-shipping.html Make sure you inquire with your shipper about insurance coverage on the vehicles they transport. The car can be stored free of charge at our location for up to seven days after full payment has been made. After that, we charge $20 per day storage. We’re open for pickup 10am to 6pm everyday. The Buyer will be responsible for the licensing requirements in their state of residence. If you live here in Washington State we’ll need to collect the 9.5% sales tax, title preparation, transfer and registration fees (this means if it’s leaving Washington, you won’t be paying any sales tax to us). Because the Alfa is advertised and for sale locally, we reserve the right to cancel this auction early if it’s no longer available for sale online. The State of Washington shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes. Venue shall be exclusively in King County. The final contract signed between both buyer and seller shall be binding. The final signed contract and terms thereof shall govern the sale. All disputes arising out of or relating to this auction, any negotiations, the signed agreement, or to the breach, enforcement or interpretation thereof, shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Washington, in accordance with the terms contained in the final sale agreement and under the laws of the State of Washington.
