You are viewing a very nice original example of a 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Normale.  The car has 49,000 original miles.  It has always been garaged and used as a weekend driver.  The car is essentially all original and has not been restored. 

The previous owner of the Giulietta had passed away, and I purchased it from his wife.  Her husband had owned the Alfa for over 30 years and used it occasionally on weekends during the summer months.  The Giulietta had impressive company during those years and shared the garage with a beautiful Jaguar XKE, a nice Porsche and a beautiful DeTomaso.  

At some point the original 1300 engine was replaced with a 1750 cc with dual webers.  The Alfa runs great and is extremely quick with the 1750 - this combination makes it faster than a 1600 Veloce!  I was not able to find the original engine in the garage. 

The body is in nice original condition.  There is no rust on the body that I could find.  The paint appears to be all original and shows the normal wear that you would expect from a 48 year old car.  The area to the left and right side of the license plate shows an older touch up.  It looks like the paint may have flaked off at some point.  There are no dents and does not show any evidence of body repair.  The floors are all original and look solid with no holes or previous repairs.  All jacking points are present.  The left front inner rocker will need some work at some point.  There are no holes, but it is worth mentioning.  The trunk looks good with no evidence of rust or previous repairs.  Doors fit nicely and shut perfectly.

The interior looks very good and is mostly original including the carpets, rubber mats, knobs, door panels, shift boot etc...The seats were redone quite a long time ago and appear to be done correctly.  The dash was recovered at that time.  The tan convertible top is made of cloth, and is in excellent condition including the rear window.  Mechanically the Alfa is in excellent condition.  It is essentially a turn key car.  It always starts right up, and all components are working properly.  The weber carbs could use a little bit of fine tuning, and one of the brake shoes seems to be dragging.  The exhuast is new and it has a relatively new battery.  The car is complete down to the original hubcaps.  An non original coolant overflow was added when the 1750 was installed as shown in the engine compartment pictures.  The engine and engine compartment are very clean and this is how I purchased it.  The chrome is showing it's age and has some of the expected pitting that you would expect from 44 year old Italian chrome. 

As stated it's an all original un-restored example.  It's 44 years old and it's far from perfect, but shows some wonderful patina.  It has always been well cared for and loved by it's previous owner.  It also includes the original keys.  It is titled as a 1963, but was manufactured in 1962.  I am selling the Alfa in as is condition with no warranty expressed or implied.  I have done my best to describe the Alfa to the best of my knowledge - I am sure I may have missed some information or some details, so don't hesitate to ask a question.  I have sold several car's internationally, and would encourage international buyers to bid with confidence.  My 100% positive feedback speaks for itself, so you can bid with confidence.  This is a very rare opportunity to acquire an all original Giulietta with the benefits of Veloce performance.  It's quite fast, and is a pleasure to drive.

I forgot to list the transmission as a 5 speed - it still retains the correct shifter where you need to push down to engage reverse.  Also, I think my description regarding the chrome was not as favorable as it actually is.  To be more specific, the pitting of the chrome is limited to the two hood hinges and 1 of the trunk hinges.  The door handles are in great shape with no pitting.  The windshield frame is also in excellent condition without any pitting.   The front and rear bumpers do not have any pitting either.  The "eyebrows" are both in nice condition as well. 

I have had several inquiries regarding the 1750 engine.  After looking up the engine number, it has been determined that the engine was manufactured in 1971.  Also, for those that would be interested in bringing the Giulietta back to it's original 1300 engine, I have access to a either a used or rebuilt period correct 1300 engine.  They would be available at an additional cost from one of the best Alfa shops.
