Back when real men rode motorcycles, you controled the advance from you handlebar.None of this girly-boy auto advance unit stuff...

Most R-68s and R 69s had their s converted at a later date.It was always a pain to remember to advance or retard the spark.Nothing like looking down and seeing blue pipe because you forgot to advance the spark .

May be for Zundapp? NSU?

A: I thought it was but I am not sure.Others have made suggestions. It is alloy but it has been chromed.Chrome is fair.Not flaws in alloy though.Thanks.
