Vehicle Description

Thanks for looking at my 1956 BMW R26 with matching numbers, Vin 340945. This is  a nice unrestored original (not 100%). I acquired this bike from the second owner, the exact mileage may or may not be correct, second owner put approximately 2500 miles on the bike after he bought from orig dealer. The bike had been in storage for a period, and I cleaned up to this condition with a little effort. The bike starts and runs very well. All controls, switches, and instrumentation functions as they should.

When I acquired the bike:

  • Carburetor cleaned and rebuilt
  • New petcock, original included
  • New carburator intake tube
  • New fuel lines and filter
  • New six volt Sealed Battery
  • New Grips
  • New tires and tubes
  • New fluids and gaskets
  • New spark plug
  • Engine tuned
  • Fuel tank is clean

The Bike is an enjoyable Rider, since there are some age nicks and scratches from normal use. There are some minor issues which a new owner could improve upon, such as a new seat cover, age cracks are present. Included is the tool kit, new foot peg rubbers, both the ignition and tool box/battery cover keys, and the original petcock which has been rebuilt. Bike also has a period Flanders sidestand. Please take a look at the super size photos I have included.

The bike is sold "AS IS", and the sale will be considered final.

The bike is located in Boise, Idaho, and is available for inspection by arrangement. The bike is for sale locally and the ad may be ended at any time. THE BUYER IS TO MAKE ALL ARRANGEMENTS FOR SHIPMENT , if that is the case. I can turn the bike over to a shipper with appropriate instructions. A non-refundable deposit of $500 will be required within 48 hours of auction end, with the whole deal completed within one week.
