R1100GS after-market partial exhaust system by BMP. Included is all mounting hardware,springs and clamp. Good useable condition.  There is some visible wear in the clamp mounting area on the muffler, but it is not noticable when mounted on the motorcycle. There are many thousands of happy miles left in this exhaust    This exhaust uses your stock head pipes and eliminates the very heavy stock BMW catalytic converter and muffler.  The BMW exhaust sensor attaches to a bung on the cat eliminator pipe.  I ran this exhaust on my 1996 GS. It looks dirty in the photos but will clean up nicely with some 0000 steel wool. I sold the bike about a year ago and am now clearing out my garage.

By installing it on your GS you will reduce the weight of your motorcycle by 16 pounds, while giving it a pleasant & deep Messerschmitt type growl.  It definately allows the engine to breathe freely without being overly obnoxious.  Also the muffler mounts slightly lower than stock which allows the owner to run a much larger left side saddlebag (full size like the right side.)  Please see the attached photo number four (#4) showing a GS with a BMP exhaust system installed.  Photo #4 is a photo I found on the internet,  it is not the system being auctioned. I included photo #4 because it does show exactly how my exhaust system will fit on your R1100GS.   Please refer to the first three photos for condition of the item being auctioned.

 Q: Can this muffler be re-packed? Is the slip on end in good shape? Is it aluminum?
A: Yes, Just like any dirt bike type muffler. The end is in nice shape and is undamaged. The can is aluminum, the end is stainless steel.

 Q: curious if you had anything else from your GS boneyard. I have a 97 and am looking for odds & ends. Would love to have this AND a full-sized left saddlebag :)
A: This is the only item I have for the 1100 GS. If you ride your bike offroad you will notice the weight reduction, especially if you get stuck in the mud and have to lift that puppy !!
