Titles

We do not always have titles on hand for vehicles that are placed for sale, titles may be in transit from banks, from other dealerships, from the state, and a host of other reasons for normal processing delays in title paperwork.  We are a licensed dealer in Kentucky and guarantee clear titles on all vehicles that we sell. If having title on hand is of critical importance to you, please call to verify its disposition prior to contracting for sale.

We are required to collect sales tax here in the State of Kentucky and the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, South Carolina and Washington. If your state is listed your taxes will need to be applied to the final bid. If your state is not listed you will be responsible for paying your taxes in the state the vehicle is titled in. You will be responsible, as well, for Titling, License, Transfer and any other local fees necessary for the county you will be titling the vehicle in.

All sales will have a charge of 99.85 for title and notary work and a 399.40 Dealer charge for document preparation and other services related to this transaction added to the final Bid price. These fees are nonnegotiable and preprinted on every Swope Contract in the State of Kentucky. Please take these fees into consideration before bidding.

The Sam Swope Auto Group is managed today by Richard S. “Dick” Swope as President and C.E.O.  As the dealer for Courtesy Cadillac in Louisville, Dick Swope merged his operations with Sam Swope Pontiac GMC, Inc. in 1988 to form the Sam Swope Auto Group.  Since that time he has worked to build the group of dealerships that offers a diverse range of products.  Dick is involved in numerous civic activities including service to the University of Louisville Board of Overseers, Norton Hospital, and the Lincoln Heritage Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

As the most public face of the Sam Swope Auto Group, Patti Swope serves as Executive Vice President, Business Development and spokesperson in television and print advertising.  Patti supervises new dealership construction and existing facility remodeling, as well as community relations.  Patti currently serves on the board of Kentucky Humane Society and recently completed her tenure on the Louisville Zoo Board  She is passionate about the welfare of animals.
