The Details:

I purchased this gorgeous 3.8 liter Buick Regal LS several months ago for my secretary to drive. The car appealed to her because it is in excellent condition, is luxurious and is economical. Tracy (my secretary) drove the car for 5 months then was side-lined by both a slip and fall injury and a hip replacement. She’ll be in recovery for many, many months hence the car is for sale. I have the clear, salvage-free, rebuilt-free, wreck-free, water damage-free Florida title in hand.

Exterior:

The two stage (base coat/clear coat) Ermine White finish is in absolutely perfect condition. There’s not a single dent, ding, chip or scratch on the entire car. Not a single bit of rust either. Every body panel is utterly straight. The bumpers, front and rear, are completely, absolutely unblemished. In fact the entire exterior is in nearly new condition.

The car has never been accident damaged. The car looks spectacular. In fact it’s in such lovely condition that it could pass for a car with but 45,000 miles. Really.

Interior:

The original gray leather interior is in very good condition. The dash is absolutely perfect as is the original carpet, door panels, dash face, kick panels, door map pockets, dash speaker grills, dash face, center console, gauge cluster bezel and every other interior component. The original leather seats are in above average condition, are still soft to the touch and have just a very few wear blemishes. The rear seats are immaculate.

The driver’s power seat controls work in every setting. The air conditioning is ice cold and works on all settings including “MAX“. The heater is fully operative, and all fan speeds work perfectly. Every outside running light and dash light is operative. The never used cigarette lighter works. Even the interior courtesy lights work right down to the ones in the luggage compartment and glove box. The headlights operate perfectly as do the windshield wipers/washer, parking brake, power door locks, power mirrors, cruise control and power windows.

The car has been a non-smoking car all its life.

Trunk:

Spotless and not a spec of rust in the spare tire well.

Mechanical Condition:

Before I purchase this Buick for my secretary I took it to one of Orlando’s local Buick dealers for a pre-purchase inspection. Buick ran diagnostics on the motor and transmission and checked the A/C system, brakes, wheel bearings, shocks, electrical system and more. I also had them check the car for prior damage and rust. They also retrieved and reviewed with me the car’s prior service and warranty history. They gushed about the car’s condition so I bought it.

Immediately after I purchased the car I brought it back to the dealer for standard maintenance including a cooling system flush, oil and oil filter change, wiper blade renew and brake fluid flush and replacement. In the last week, in anticipation of this listing and sale, I took the Buick back for two brand new tires and an alignment as mentioned elsewhere in this text.

I’m going to go out on a very safe limb and say that this is the nicest, best maintained and thoroughly road-ready Regal LS of this era offered on Ebay in the last 6 months.

Running, Driving & Handling:

Extraordinary. The car has perfect alignment, handles exceptionally and evidences no steering box wear so the car doesn't wander and has zero steering wheel ‘play‘ or vagueness. It drives and handles like a well cared for car should. On the interstate at 75 mph my Buick is solid, unwavering and utterly stable. It tracks straight and doesn’t feel light and twitchy like so many less well cared for Regals that I test drove before I purchased this one. Certainly, as I’ve indicated, this is a function of a solid steering box but it’s also a function of my very correct and unworn front end. Ball joint, tie rod, bushing and power steering unit condition make or break these cars when it comes down to driving enjoyment.

This Regal LS has astonishing power, the automatic transmission shifts perfectly and the new brakes are superb and stop straight, fast and true. Simply put: it is in the sort of very good to excellent condition that you’d expect from a car with far fewer miles.

There are no squeaks or rattles even at speed over rail road tracks. Road noise and wind noise are almost non-existent, too. This is a very, very solid and air tight Buick that runs and drives as well now as when it was new. It’s been a cared for car.

Optional Equipment:

Please note that this superb Regal LS is equipped with every option offered in 2003 with the exception of the Joseph Abboud Designer Interior and moon roof. It is equipped with the ultra-rare FE9 Sport Suspension that was, according to Buick’s website, ordered with just 8% of the Regal LS cars. The suspension option does not make the Regal LS ride hard or uncomfortably what so ever but dramatically improves the handling characteristics of the car. The car is also equipped with the Buick Regal LS Luxury Package and the Leather & Wheels Package which added leather seating surfaces and 15” aluminum wheels to the car.

My Buick had an M.S.R.P. window sticker price of $26, 885.

Engine Compartment:

The engine bay is nearly show room clean. There are no oil leaks, smears nor smudges.

Wheels & Tires:

Two brand new, top quality 225/60/15 Falken (an excellent Japanese tire maker) Touring II radial tires were installed on the rear wheels 100 miles ago. The front tires retain about 85% to 90% of their original tread. A front end alignment was done when the new tires were installed. All four tires match in brand name, model designation and size. The factory aluminum wheels are nearly perfect and evidence zero curb rash or oxidation.

The spare tire is unused and the jack and jack tools are present.

Gas Mileage:

The Regal LS averages 23 mpg and uses regular (87 octane, $2.34 cents per gallon) fuel. Highway gas mileage rises as high as 28 mpg.

Value:

The Dealer’s Black Book, which lists far more conservative wholesale car values than the Blue Book says that my Buick is worth $3,300. Retail hovers around $4,850 considering this cars’ condition. I paid $5200 for it 5 months ago. Same year Regal LS Buicks have, with more miles, sold on Ebay for $3,300 to $3,500 in the last month. Remember, my auction is a real auction. High bidders wins it.

Pre Purchase Inspection:

While I’ve striven to describe this fine Regal LS accurately please know that you are absolutely welcome to have me take it to one of the Buick dealers in Orlando for a bumper-to-bumper pre-purchase inspection (your expense). You need merely provide your credit card information directly to the dealerships cashier.

Issues:

The odometer digits do not illuminate but my Buick dealer has verified that the computer that records the mileage is fully operable and verified the mileage to be 87,322 miles. The dealer has provided a notarized statement to document the mileage.

I have one ignition/door key and one non-working door opening fob. The fob may simply need a battery but assume it’s defective. Fobs can be purchased on Ebay for around $20. The factory CD player often won’t accept an inserted CD. I think the demise of my CD player is in sight…. The AM/FM radio and cassette player work wonderfully.
