1981 Buick Riviera Convertible. Yes a 1981! This is a very rare car notably since they only made them 1982-1985. I don't have a detailed history on the vehicle, though my assumption is that this could have been an early debut for the 1982 Convertible unveiling. It appears to be a GM partnered ASC conversion which produced the factory 82-85 Buick Riviera and Cadillac Eldorado convertibles. The framing, body and interior trimwork, including upholstery matches exactly to those examples. The car also has additional emission components, so I am also assuming the car could have been originally from California. The car is in very solid Excellent condition from top to bottom. It has a 307 V8 which runs quiet and smooth. Transmission shifts very smooth as well. Some new items to mention: New brakes front and rear. New rear brake calipers and rotors. New brake master cylinder and power booster. New exhaust front to back including catalytic converter. New battery & alternator. New ball joints. The original leather interior and carpet is in amazing preserved and outstanding original condition. Tires are in excellent condition. All metal is solid and original. The car was repainted once that shows well. One minor scrape in the drivers door that could easily be blended. The underbody is very clean with solid floors and trunk. Rear bumper filler by gas tank has slight crack. Chrome is in excellent condition. Top has one minor cut about 3/8 inch near rear back side. Could be repaired. Radio is an aftermarket, and the speakers are not working or hooked up correctly. The power antenna is in the upward position, however does not motor up or down. I do not have the convertible top boot for it shown. A new one can be purchased for $160.00. Air conditioning does not work and may need a re-charge. Everything thing else is stock and original. Has power windows, locks, trunk, seat; Lighted visor mirrors etc... Garage kept and stored winters. Has a clean Carfax report. Any bidders are encouraged to look first. Thanks for looking.
