| DESCRIPTION |
| During an astounding period of automobile design and manufacturing, the 1957 model year was truly at its peak! If someone had the opportunity to grace a new car showroom at Chevrolet, Lincoln, Ford, Dodge, Chrysler, Cadillac, and many others, you may have be witness to some of the most elegant designs ever to hit the roads! When style, size, chrome, and interior amenities were big factors to buyers, the automakers didn’t hold back! Unique attributes such as the famous “tail fins” were commonly found on all makes, but each car usually had some special touches to separate them from the pack.
A perfect example of all these characteristics during this time period is the very rare, and highly sought after 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham Series 70. Said to be the next best Cadillac investment to the Eldorado Biarritz convertible, the production total of these beautiful cars for 1957 is only 400 units making them very difficult to find, let alone in your desired color! This is #314.
The 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham offered here is finished in the code correct Ebony with an all-original two-tone Black & White leather interior! With only 61,921 miles showing on the odometer, we believe this to be the actual mileage from new. The option list of standard features on these cars is long and included stainless steel hardtop, power steering, power brakes, power windows and vents, power locks, power trunk release and pull down, air conditioning, rear heat, polarized sun visors, auto high beam headlight dimmer, 6-way power seat with memory, and AM radio with front and rear speakers! As a compliment from Cadillac, these cars were originally delivered with 6 magnetic cocktail cups; glove box tissue holder; ladies cigarette, lipstick, powder, comb, and mirror holder for the front and rear; perfume with atomizer; and even a notepad with Cross pen for taking down notes! Admittedly, some of these items have no longer survived with this particular vehicle, but efforts have been taken to replace a few of them with modern equivalents.
More importantly, this vehicle has been meticulously gone through in 2006 after coming out of an 18-year long ownership to make sure all the original features are still functional. This included a completely new air conditioning system, power seat motors and relays, power trunk pull down relay and motor, and a complete engine-out rebuild and detail, recored radiator, fuel lines, exhaust system, complete Pertronics ignition, and much, much more. All receipts will be provided. The original air ride suspension system these cars utilized was very tedious and prone to leaks from the air domes, so this car has been upgraded to leaf springs and shocks for a sure ride and less potential for problems in the future. The paint has been professionally refinished and is very smooth and shows extremely well! The doors, hood, and trunk all open and close perfectly and tight. The chrome is magnificent throughout! This is a must have for any professional car collector! Once you start walking around a car this beautiful, it is hard not to appreciate it’s bold elegance! Serious buyers please feel free to inquire with any questions.
