Bad instrutions for pre concreat installation
The instructions that come with these says to ball up newspaper on bottom and tape it ... The instructions that come with these says to ball up newspaper on bottom and tape it all up. after leveling and then the concrete is poured you cans will end up a quarter inch or MORE below floor level as the newspaper ball will squish down. A better way would be to get some commercial cardboard like restaurants plastic wrap comes on. They throw these away when the plastic is gone, and cut a two inch piece and tape to the bottom of can. Or buy 3" PVC couplings and tape those to bottom. This will prevent the anchors from sinking down as the cement is poured. I also used caulk to fill slits to keep concrete out of the inside but unfortunately did not follow my own thoughts as to how best to make a void on the bottom.
