Up for bid is this 1989 Chevy Astro Van being sold AS-IS. It could be for restoration or parts. I have owned the van for four yrs. It was in the shop in Sept. ’08 for repairs totaling $700; including 4 new tires and safety inspection thru 10/10. I have this receipt and a couple of others. I was told by the mechanic that it needs a fuel pump. The battery is approx. one yr old. The van will start but doesn"t stay running due to the fuel pump. It was also leaking transmition fluid and needs a seal according to the mechanic. I am not sure of the overall condition of the tranie. The new tires have approx. 1000 miles on them. I have been told the engine sounds very strong by “Triple A” among others. Right before the van went to the shop I had the oil changed and filled with transmition fluid—a day or so later the fuel pump went. The van is white with one door and fender a light grey. Please note that here in RI the safety sticker is still good for one year. One rear view mirror is loose and the grill is cracked. As I pointed out it needs work but if you have the knowhow, skill , and place to restore it, it will make a great , strong running Astro in my opinion. The vinyl on the seats is cracked. When I decided I couldn’t invest more $ in the van I had it towed to my home. This Astro is being sold AS-IS. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
