1969 Chevrolet Camaro Pro-Touring
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This is a NO RESERVE auction! You are bidding on a very nice turnkey custom 1969 Camaro RS/SS which has been quality frame-off built with 396 Big Block with dual quads, Tremec TKO600 5-speed overdrive transmission & 12-bolt 3:73 posi. This is a very cool car, plenty of power, nice ride, very firm positive steering, great shifting, drive anywhere. Just won at Goodguys. Other desirable options include tilt steering wheel, quick-ratio power steering system, 12” power front disc brakes, tach and gauge package, front and rear spoilers, endura bumper, complete 2” drop suspension, front and rear. This is an all metal car. Not a bondo creation. This car has just been put on the road in June and has approximately 850 miles on it since restoration. 90% of the car is new and the rest has either been replaced or restored. Sorry no trades! I will take reasonable offers, and if I accept, I will lower the auction price. The Camaro is painted a custom Dupont Chromabase (basecoat/clearcoat) midnight metallic green which has a hint of blue/green pearl in the sunlight
and a lot of metallic - and three black stripes painted under the four coats of
clear. The engine is a 1965 396 from an
Impala with matching numbers (heads and block). Motor is completely rebuilt
with all new parts including forged crank (.10 on the crank), 3/8 forged rods
and forged hi-comp. pistons. Heads were all rebuilt, new three-angle valve job
and the valve size was increased with new stainless valves. Valvetrain is all
new also. Flat tappet hydraulic cam. New Edelbrock polished dual quad intake
system and carbs. The brand-new, just installed,on 9-22-09 ,Tremec TKO600 (.64 OD) also has a brand
new 11" flywheel, hi-perf Zoom pressure plate and kevlar clutch disc
assembly with new pilot bushing. Also had a new driveshaft made to fit with all new u-joints and yoke. The rear-end is a 12-bolt from a 69 Camaro
which has been completely rebuilt. It has 3:73 gears and a Lock-Right style posi with brand new axles. The original
Camaro was a 70,000-mile all-original numbers matching inline six 3-speed
manual on the column, no option car. This sat in an Iowa field for years. The body was still wearing the original paint but was was
very dented from being in the field. It was not a rusted out shell. Even the window channels had no rust in them. That is how clean
this body was except for all of the major dents. It now has has entirely new
exterior metal except for the roof. The underneath was completely rust free because the dust and dirt on the farm protected it (even the original drive shaft still had the original
paint marks from the factory). The original frame was in
excellent condition, so it was painted, new polyurethane body bushings were
installed, and the front steering and suspension were completely rebuilt. Front
suspension is sporting a QA-1 coil-over adjustable shock system. Control arms
are a tubular design with 2” drop spindles, heavy-duty sway bar and all-new
steering components. Braking system consists of a new 9” booster with
Corvette-style master cylinder, proportioning block feeding to 12” slotted and
cross-drilled rotors in the front (CPP parts). Rear remains the drum set-up
which is completely rebuilt with new drums, hardware, wheel cylinders, axle
bearings, and seals. New ring and pinion (3:73 gears) with all new bearings.
The brakes stop four new 18 x 9” polished aluminum wheels with black center
rims. New tires are very aggressive 225/40/ZR18 in front and 255/45/ZR18 in rear and
front end aligned at a shop. Other new parts include all new wiring (front to back) to conform to
an RS/SS model. Windshield and back glass are new from PPG. All of the glass
was converted to factory-tinted glass even though the car does not have AC. All
new trim and emblems. All new weatherstripping. All of the interior. New heater
core and heater control system. New tach. New wiper motor and all related
parts. All new dash switches (headlight, wiper, etc.). New glovebox and ash
tray assemblies. All new fuel system (sender, tank, lines, pump, carbs). New
radio is a CD player with new speakers in the new kick panels and new rear
deck. Yes, the hidden headlights do function. Other new parts under the hood include a new aluminum radiator, battery,
starter, chrome headers. 2.5” dual exhaust system, all of the power steering
system, blower motor and heater core. New vinyl top installed. This is a
'68-style top installed on this car. Some other details... Again, this car has been almost
completely replaced with all new parts. It has already won major awards
including "COOL CAMARO" at GoodGuys Blue Suede Cruise and Super
Chevy. Note: this car is turnkey. Fly in and drive it home. This car was entirely built by me.
Not a check book car. I have receipts for all parts which total over $50,000+. I have to sell due to wife's health. I
have plenty of pictures of the car as well as the engine being built. I build
one or two customs a year as a hobby for myself. They are not 7-day builds, hurry-up-and-sell to make a buck kind of car. I take pride in making sure the fit and finish and assemblies are done right, and, in some cases, better than original for durability. The selling price is a great deal for someone that wants it - unfortunately, my wife's health dictates the sale. See my site for other cars that I built and sold. http://www.houseofmouseracing.com. You are welcome to see this
car and view it at any time. I do have a lift so you can inspect the
underneath. No trades. Car can be driven anywhere. If you choose to have it
trailered or picked up by a shipping company, arrangements can be made. This has a clean Ohio title showing 70,000 actual miles. It is not a salvage title. Terms
