I hate to do it, but the time has come to sell my 1964 Corvair Monza (900) Coupe. This is a great driving car, By no means would I consider it to be in show condition , But it will surely turn heads !!!!

-Runs Great- The engine starts on the 1st crank every time, and runs tip-top. New pushrod tube seals, new petronics ignition, new alternator, new voltage regulator, new harmonic balancer, new fuel pump, freshly rebuilt carburetors, new belt, new oil cooler seals, new spark plugs, new air filter, new engine compartment seals , new inner axle seals, new rear shocks, new master cylinder, new tachometer, new clutch cable .

-Smooth Trans- The transmission shifts smoothly, it never ever grinds, and shifts effortlessly into all 4 gears. The clutch is solid, engages smoothly and progressively, doesn't grab, slip, or chatter.

-Straight Body- The body on the car is arrow-straight. I included a few photos looking forward along the body lines down each side of the car. Being black, you can see any dent, ding, wave, ripple, etc.. I get complements all the time on how nice the car looks, and it all comes down to the body being straight. You can have a $10k paint job, but if you're putting it on top of junk, it's going to look like just that.

-Fair Paint- I may be a bit too critical, but I'd rate the paint as a 7-8/10. From 3 feet away it looks 100%, but when you get right up on it there are a few small blemishes. None are anything so big that I could even take pictures of them, but I'm a bit obsessive with detailing, and love making a car look perfect. Don't get me wrong the car is very nice looking, and I wouldn't dream of repainting it. It's a car that I drive, and it has a few stone chips that have been touched up and are visible if you get right up on the car. Most people would probably rate it a 9/10, but I'd rather someone be pleasantly surprised when they see it. The brightwork is straight, clean and shiny. It really is a sharp looking car.

-Nice Interior- The interior is solid. The headliner, door panels, and seat upholstery are really, really nice. The dash pad has several small splits around the speaker and ash tray as you can see in the picture. If the car doesn't sell, I might fix it this fall. A local upholstery shop said they could recover it for around $100, and a new replacement piece is ~$230 from Clarks Corvair. The carpet is starting to fade a bit. I'm planning on replacing it with a new carpet set from Clarks. (~$140). I haven't done it yet becaue it's really not that bad. Like I said, I'm kind of obsessive and want things to be perfect.

There is an aftermarket dual exhaust that a previous owner put on. The tips are starting to pit and corrode. Finally, I'm pretty sure that the air cleaner and tail lights are from a 61-63. These are all pretty minor things,

The tires on the car are in great shape, and have plenty of life in them. They're only 2 years old, and the car is driven only a few 100 miles a year, driving to local cruise nights and shows.

I'm including a set of factory shop manuals including the '64 supplement. Also, included is a car cover and a few spare parts that I've collected. Nothing big, just spare engine belts and oil filters, etc. In the picture below I mistakenly put a manual from a 1962 Corvair, but only the 1964 owners guide is included.

I have a clean, clear California title for the Corvair. It's being sold as-is, where-is, but I can help with arranging transportation.

The car drives great and I hate to sell it, but I have a few to many toys, and I've been told that one of them needs to go. It's a sad time for me, but hopefully someone new can enjoy the car as much as I have.

My reserve is low, and very fair.

Please feel free to send me any questions, I'll be sure to post them in this listing so that everyone can see them. This vehicle is listed locally, so I reserve the right to retract sale at any time.

Thanks,

Mike

Q: Cars looks like a real nice driver. Do you think the mileage is correct or is well over 100,000 miles? Is black the original color? How is the chrome as I can see one dent in the front bumper, is there more ? Thank, MJT
A: The car IS a great driver. To be honest I'm unsure about the true milage. If I had to judge based on interior condition and the over all condition of the car , I might think there was a good possibility. If the... Continue reading
