1965 Chevrolet G20 Van

Hello. I am listing this van for a close friend. Please consider his following description with my 100% feedback in mind.
1965 Chevrolet Sportvan, Short wheelbase
This van was purchased by my grandfather in 1967. I have many fond memories of riding in it over the years. My grandfather took great care of it as you can see. The van resided in Southern California and has absolutely no rust. He had it repainted in the original color about 15 years ago and at the same time had the bumpers and headlight bezels rechromed an the seats and sun visor reaphulstered. At that point he also had the original two speed transmission rebuilt. He then bought a new car and stopped driving the van except on special occasions. It has been stored indoors since then.
The van has a straight six with the aluminum two speed powerglide trans. It runs well in fair weather but does need the choke to start on cold mornings if it's been sitting. It will occasionally puff a bit of smoke when fired up after sitting but then it clears out once you're driving. It has a new waterpump, alternator, starter and electric VDO gauges for oil and coolant. Gauges, along with a cassette player, and a 12v plug in for cell phone charger were installed in an aluminum channel under the dash since I didn't want to tamper with the original dash. The original AM radio is still in place but not hooked up. The gas gauge is the only thing that doesn't work. The original headliner is still in it and is in great shape.
Paint is still in good condition with only a few chips. Again, this van has no signs of rust anywhere and I have looked it over quite a bit. The louvered belly pan is still in it and in great shape. The very top of the roof has some dips in it but are only visible if you're above it. Has the fold out step when the side door is open which is handy for old dogs, people or kids. Original floor mat is in it and in good shape. Four of the side windows open part way to help things stay cool. Driver's seat has a small split in it.(about an inch long) All lights, signals, wipers, horn and heater work well. Still has the original black and yellow California plates. (If the van leaves California, I would like to keep the plates.) Has new tires on the rear and the front are still ok. I put 14x6 ralleys on it that have good caps and rings. I still have the original 13inch wheels with dogdish caps and tires. Glass is good throughout with no major scratches or pits. I also have the original owner's manual that goes with it. Although the van is in excellent condition, there are a few little things that need attention. The choke cable is a little stiff and sometimes you have to manualy disengage it. The throttle and shift linkage could use new bushings to tighten things up. Original insulation under the engine cover could use replacement.
The van is a conversation piece for sure where ever you take it. People love seeing it and are always amazed at its condition. Even at car shows filled with high end hot rods, there is always a large amount of attention given to it. It gets "thumbs up" and smiles every time I drive it. I don't really want to let it go but storage is at a premium and the project list and family are growing...I want it to go to a good home with an owner that appreciates it and takes care of it. If you have further questions or would like more pictures, please contact me.
