You are bidding on a 1976 Chevrolet Nova Hatchback. This super clean 2 owner southern car was purchased from the original owner and has been garage kept its entire life and upgraded and restored with an eye towards detail. Chevrolet only built 7,866 of these very versatile hatchbacks in 76. Included are the original owner documents including the build sheet, owner’s manual, maintenance schedule and warranty brochure.

 

Refinished with PPG’s top of the line Global base/clear system in Chevrolet Glacier Blue with black SS stripes. 2 ¼” cowl hood, dual sport mirrors and a new scratch free windshield. All interior parts present and in good shape including rare hatchback items. New front seat upholstery and new carpet. All new weather stripping on doors, windows, hatch, door handles and locks Front disc brakes, Rally wheels, new springs front and back. Large 1 ½” diameter sway bar keeps the car flat through the turns. True dual exhaust, 2 ¼” diameter with cross-over pipe with turbo mufflers provide muscular sound without being overly loud. The metallic paint has some slight mottling, but it is not pronounced.

 

1998 Vortec 350 roller engine with very desirable 062 Vortec heads mated to a professionally rebuilt Turbo 350 transmission. Edelbrock Vortec intake and 650 electric choke carburetor. HEI ignition updated with correct melonized distributor gear to mesh with roller cams. New Carter electric fuel pump, new water pump and alternator. The bottom end was inspected and found in great shape. New rod and main bearings were installed and checked and all were within spec. Engine is in stock form and supplies lots of torque and an estimated 270 hp. If high horsepower is your goal, the Vortec 350 is an excellent platform. A simply cam change will push this engine into the 350 hp range. Or prep the valve guides to accept higher lift cams and this exact long block combo is well documented to produce well over 400 hp.
