You are bidding on a custom 1956 Chevy 1/4 ton pickup shown in this ad. This unique Chevrolet truck has a ton of customizing. First let us start with the chassis. The A frame chassis on this truck is from an S-10 pickup, which allowed this truck (using 3/16 steel) to be lowered to only about 4 inches from the ground. The bumpers were removed to add a sleek look to this truck, and the (ten inch deep) steel bed liner has also been lowered.
The present owner has owned this truck for only three years, purchased it from the prior owner who lived in Citra Florida (who had no knowledge of its history), and the present owner has no knowledge of previous ownership or history other that what he has done which is stated in this ad.

Unique Custom 1956 Chevy Truck Indeed
Typical with the S-10, this truck has power front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. Manual steering, and the transmission in this truck is a 350 Turbo 3 Speed automatic with a small shift kit and custom shifter (which was just completely professionally rebuilt less than 100 miles ago by Lane Transmissions in Ocala - here where the truck is). The small shift kit can shift smooth or kick it, depending on how you use the gas pedal. This truck with regards to the engine, brakes and transmission - there is nothing known that needs to be done. Ready to drive.
The powerful engine is a 350 Vortec V8 from a 1995 Caprice Classic, with an edelbrock four barrel carb, and headers coming off the Edelbrock intake manifold. The engine when removed from the Caprice recently only had 70,000 miles showing on the Caprice odometer, so it is believed that the engine only has about 70,000 miles. Dual exhausts with chrome tailpipe tips (bow tie style). Runs out smooth and strong. Truck rides and drives out great.
On the sounds and music system ... delight and rock or dance to a JVC stereo
with remote control with four speakers two new under the dash and two behind the seats.

The custom interior was completed done over just recently (tan with black carpeting). The bucket seats are roomy and comfortable, from a Chevrolet Suburban. All door handles and latches work. The wipers do not presently work, as the owner we are assisting who himself or had others do a tremendous amount of customization says that the wipers (vacuum), he could not find a rebuild kit, and he surmises it might be easier to just replace the wipers with electric powered wipers.
As this truck was primarily for show, the wipers and some other aspects were not important to the present owner. He focused more on drive train and exterior aspects. The signals are in place, but one with knowledge of wiring would need to complete the wiring. The taillights and brake lights do work. The present owner did not think about installing a horn, as again, this was not a vehicle he was driving -- but the engine and drivetrain would have no problems being driven if the new owner wanted to. The high beam and low beam headlights work, the gauges in the dash are new, new speedometer cable, and the dash lights work. The tires are all 10 inch by 15 inch.
The fuel tank has been removed and relined, with a new sending unit, gas gauge works fine.
This custom truck has ice-cold air conditioner (aftermarket AC). The owner we are assisting to find a new owner for this unique custom 56 Chevy Truck is in the air conditioning business. The windows are fixed position, as smaller windows are needed. The present owner has found the kit, which is $300, and is available at Brothers Truck (so the windows could be made to be usable if the new owner desired to do so :) The windows kit includes smaller glass, felt, and rubbers.
The window and door gaskets are new (doors close tight), the window regulators are there, but the window glass is too big, so the present owner just rolled them up and kept them in fixed position (not usable), as the ice cold air in this truck was the only thing needed to keep cool inside (here in sunny central Florida :) Even new hood rubbers.
The customizing paint and body work -- the body and paint is only about a year old (make sure to see the many photos in this ad and in the photo gallery). The body itself before painting only had some small bondo areas -- this 1956 Chevy pickup body before customizing started was sound -- with only light signs of surface rust in places, and great care was taken where it was determined rust could be an issue, the few areas were replaced with new steel. The body on this truck is 53 years old - look at the excellent condition :)
