This car is the featured car in Mopar Action Magazine October 2004 issue and Mopar Muscle Car June 2001 issue. There were 3811 Chrysler 300's built in 1979 for US sales. All were Spinaker White with red leather interior. A74 code 1979 300's was an option for the Cordoba platform with the E58 HiPo 360 cu. in. engine, non lockup 727 torqueflite transmission and 9 1/4 in. rear differential. A74 code included heavy duty suspension, front and rear oversized sway bars, HD Monroe shocks, full dual exhaust. Exterior trim includes a 300 styled cross bar grill, 300 badges in the taillights, front header trim, 300 script in opera windows, special white bumper rub strip inserts, front fender louvres and special tape stripe. Interior 300 option includes engine turned applique treatment on the dash panels and console insert, 300 badges on the door panels, "Three Hundred" red, white and blue plaque on the passenger side dash panel along with full gauges including a 7000 rpm tach. The car is in excellent condition and drive train, brakes, suspension, interior, A/C have all been rebuilt or restored with original NOS parts. Car was repainted in 1985 and was stored for 10 years. Exterior paint is in very good condition, no rust, no road nicks and shows well.  In 1996 the complete drive train was removed and the underside and engine bay was sand blasted, urethane etching primed, body color and clear coated. While the drive train was removed the engine was disassembed, the block was boiled out and all parts were inspected. All bores and bearings were still within factory specs.  The engine was reassembled with heads reworked and valves ground, new rings, bearings, freeze plugs, fuel pump, water pump, oil pump, lifters, timing chain and gear, gasket set and reassembled and painted. The transmission was rebuilt and outside of case detailed. Original torque converter rebuilt, driveshaft detailed, new u joints, differential disassembed and gears inspected, new seals installed, new crush sleave installed and housing detailed. Original Thermoquad carburator was rebuilt and functions well. All brakes, brake hardware and brake lines replaced. Fuel lines, gas tank pickup filter and rollover valve replaced. All suspension front and rear rebuilt with new bushings, upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, including NOS HD shock absorbers and sway bar bushings. Radiator rebuilt, NOS cooling system, heater valve and heater hoses, NOS A/C hoses and drier, A/C works great. Steering gear box was rebuilt with original firm feel parts. K frame to frame bushings replaced with NOS parts. New tailpipes fabricated to original specs., repro mufflers, NOS left right side exhaust pipe and cat converter, left side exhaust is in good condition and has original converter. All underside heatshields were cleaned and reinstalled. Bumpers rechromed, exterior door handles replaced with NOS, NOS stripes, NOS grill, NOS hood trim, NOS lower front windshield trim. NOS wiper arms, blades, 3 speed/delay wiper motor and wiper armature.  Interior door panels, dash pad and all plastice parts were restored, leather seats are original and in great condition. Console lid is not cracked and console is excellent. All interior equipment and gauges function. Lots of minor parts were replaced with NOS as I could track them down over the years. I added power door locks, 3 speed windshield wipers with delay, padded and lighted visors, power trunk release and light, glove box light, all from a Cordoba donor car. I installed an original eguipment AM/FM Stereo CB factory radio with the correct antenna and cable. Car has very rare original equipment GR60X15 RWL tires with approx. 2500 miles on them plus and original full size spare that has never been on the road. Wheels, trim rings and center caps were replaced with NOS parts. All original glass with normal minor scuffs, no nicks or wiper scratches. I am the original owner and I have all the documentaion from purchase except the window sticker for which I have a repro, also, magazine copies, dealer showroom book, paint chip guide, ads, and other information and articles. The car has been  garage kept and stored every winter in garage, covered and bagged with dessicant since restoration. The cover and car bag go with the car. I have more information about the car from restoration and other history over the years if a buyer is interested. If you Google 1979 Chrysler 300 you will see the article from Mopar Muscle plus other sights that have used photos of this car. I am trying to get a DVD together for better all around pictures of the whole car, inside, underside, engine bay and interior for anyone interested in serious bidding.
