RDS Explained

What is RDS, and what is it for? RDS stands for Radio Data System, and is ONLY available
on Chrysler's INFINITY (top of the line) combo units, and other new units.

Many of the bigger radio stations broadcast an RDS signal, which tells the call letters
(WRIF in the pic above), as well as their called name (101 in the pic), their program type
(see list below - shows when the PTY button is pressed), and their frequency (which is 101.1 in the pic).

Some radio stations also broadcast the artist and song title!
