This automobile is being offered by Sherman Auto Sales, Inc. in St. Louis, Mo. 63115. We are a family owned and operated used car dealership since 1946 on this same street. (My cell number is 314 920-2804 Mark Sherman, owner.) I purchased this from my neighbors family after the passing of his Father. Our purchase date was 7/21/2008. I have a copy of the original title dated 11/14/1968. A new Mo. title was re-issued on 7/10/2002 when his wife was added to the title. I have the original Mo. Inspection certificates from 1977 to 1992 showing all mileage in proper sequence. In 1992 he purchased Historic plates and the inspection was not required. The 14,734 miles are 100% real, without any doubt. All original papers as well as protect-o-plate are with the car. Everything has the same name from delivery until this day. The car still has the original tires and spare that was never used. The car was serviced when we made our purchase. A new battery was put in and the car was properly checked out. The a/c is still ice cold. This car sat in the owners garage on red carpet. We have never cleaned or detailed the car. The paint is original. It has never been buffed or had the engine washed. We removed aftermarket floor mats for the picture. The car is so tight and fresh. The car has absolutely NO ODOR of any kind. Odors are very common with older cars. The original muffler is has the factory date. Everything works, with the exception that the signals work, but they do not stay on unless you manually hold the lever. The cancelling plate for the turn signals may be loose or broken. The vehicle is being sold on a clear Mo. title transferred from our dealership. Please check our history with both buying and selling on E-bay. We are very proud of our record. This car is for sale locally and we have the right to end this sale early, if the vehicle is sold. The car was driven this afternoon around the block. The car drives as smooth as can be. It is REMARKABLE !!!!! The car is welcome to any type of inspecion. I would suggest the car be transported since it has the original tires. Our antique vehicle are sold as-is. I feel we have one of the nicest, original, totally honest cars on the market for this age. On Nov-07-09 at 05:58:16 PST, seller added the following information: I would like to make a correction on my listing that was pointed out by a very courteous person. The car is a Newport sedan instead of a Newport custom sedan as listed. I thought it was a custom due to the very beautiful interior and skirts. I apologize for my error. I do have a Old Cars Price guide from Aug 2009 and the value is actually higher on the Newport and strangely enough lower on the custom. Prices in this guide show a Newport #3 at $7650.00 #2 at $11,900.00 #1 at $17,000.00 (This car is definately a #2) Price guide for a Newprot Custom #3 at $7520.00 #2 at $11,690.00 #1 at $16,700.00.
