I have this Porsche listed for sale locally, therefore,  I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime. If you care to make an offer in hopes of ending the auction early, please feel free to do so.

You are bidding on a 1976 Porsche 914-6 Speedster that  will surely bring a smile to you face and a crowd wherever you go.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind car that demands attention.

This Porsche was one of three that were built in house by Willco Auto Restorations in Gardena California in the early 80‘s. William Guinn was the owner of the business and builder for this specific 914-6. He was known for several award winning classics shown at Pebble Beach. This was his show masterpiece to help promote and sell his business. This IS the actual car that is featured in his companies brochure (as pictured). Over $40,000 was spent on this cars reconstruction coupled with hundreds of hours of labor.

Williams’ precision hand made conversion created the true convertible that the 914 desired to be. The 914 chassis was designed to be a convertible and the Willco conversion does not change or weaken its structural characteristics.  This conversion eliminates the side sailings and it also adjusts the angle of the windshield with a 30 degree rake. Hence lowering the roof line by 4 inches and giving it that much desired Speedster look and aggressive stance.
William completely redesigned the whole look of the 914. His options included:
  • Complete folding convertible top
  • Pre-formed convertible fiberglass top well
  • 30 degree rake windshield angle
  • Insulated engine cover that doubles as the folded top panel.
  • Custom designed convertible top boot.
  • Re-upholstered double stitched Upper and Lower Dash Pads
  • Newly Designed 914 Speedster leather seats without the headrests
  • Custom Door panels that match the 911 style
  • Custom professional carpet kit
  • Custom designed Tonneau covers including the boot for the top and a three-piece version that extends forward to the dash with a zipper down the center allowing you to drive with the passenger seat covered from the sun.  True Speedster style just like the 356.
  • Engine cover that is fully insulated and greatly improves access to the motor.
  • Custom side ventilation system to allow cool air to enter and cool the motor compartment coupled with a rear grill mounted air vent that exhausts hot air through a duct from the rear deck lid.
  • Included with this auction is the actual sales brochure that  was designed and used by Willco Automobile Restorations. And the car in the brochure IS this car!!!!

What makes this car also so unique is the fact that it draws its power  from the infamous Porsche Six Cylinder motor coupled with the 901 5 speed transmission.  The motor is believed to be a 2.2L. The serial number is 6106979.  The casting number is 9-11/07. It is configured with the Weber 40 IDA 3C triple dual carb setup along with a Pertronix “Second Strike” electronic ignition system.

This Porsche runs and drives very nice. Shifts into all gears really well. In fact , the whole drive train was rebuilt along with a new clutch with less then 5000 miles on it. It steers very straight and true to the road.

This may not be a true 914-6 but it has the same power plant as the real one did and it wont cost you $30,000 to enjoy it.

Prior to painting, all body pieces were completely disassembled and painted off the car. Hood, deck lid, doors bumpers, etc. The car was painted with a lacquer jet black paint to really accent the one of a kind body work and modifications that were desired.  It is the original paint since its conversion. She is still very shiny and straight as you can see from the pics.

The interior and top look as though they were just put on. They are that clean. The interior is spotless. The seats and dash are in unbelievable condition. The carpet looks as if it was just installed. The convertible top is perfect. The boot cover and tonneau covers are all in excellent shape. She is just an all around beautiful car.

The wheels are true Porsche alloys that are 6j x 16 wrapped in nice 205/55/16 Goodyear tires . Rims and center caps are fully polished with no curb rashings.

This IS the actual car that is featured in the company’s brochure (as pictured)
Over $40,000 was spent on this cars reconstruction.

I strongly advise a personal inspection, for you will not be disappointed!!

Your diligence to secure a physical inspection is welcomed and recommended. A 10% non-refundable deposit through Pay Pal is required within 24 hours of auction end. Balance due within 3 days of auctions end.

On Nov-09-09 at 15:27:28 PST, seller added the following information:

NOTE TO ALL CALIFORNIA BIDDERS:  Being that is a 1976, the DMV requires it to be Smogged. For it to be Smogged in California, you will need to take it to a referee to explain the car has a 6 cylinder versus the stock 4 cylinder. It is currently registered as a NOP-OP.
