The CarChip Pro plugs into the OBDII port in cars or trucks to record trip and performance data. This data is then downloaded into your PC computer, providing a detailed look at how the vehicle was driven, including trip start and end times, vehicle speeds, rates of acceleration and braking, and also any OBDII trouble codes detected during the trip.

The CarChip software displays vehicle data in summary, plot or table format, and can also be exported to Microsoft Excel for further analysis. The CarChip Pro also logs additional engine and vehicle data parameters, including an accident log which records 20 seconds of vehicle speed history prior to every sudden stop.

OBD-II, a standard introduced in the mid-'90s, provides almost complete engine control and also monitors parts of the chassis, body and accessory devices, as well as the diagnostic control network of the car. ODB-II port is available in many cars manufactured after 1996. See note below regarding exclusion.

2. Plug CarChip into the  OBD-II Port.

      • For most cars and trucks sold in the USA and Canada, model-years 1996 or later. Vehicles sold outside USA and Canada may or may not be compatible.

      CarChip has been carefully designed and tested to comply with OBDII protocols J1850-41.6, J1850-10.4, ISO9141, KWP2000 (ISO14320), and CAN (ISO 11898), which are used on most cars and light trucks sold in the USA, modelyear 1996 or later. However, some vehicle models are not in full compliance with these protocols. In addition, the computer control systems on a given vehicle may be malfunctioning or out of spec, as may be the sensors used by these systems.

      Warranty

      We are authorized dealer of Davis Instruments products and sell only new items. All Davis Instruments products purchased from us carry one year manufacturer warranty.

      Shipping & Handling

      Weather station will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail within one day of receiving the payment . International buyers will pay S&H charges based on the ship-to country.

      Payment

      We prefer Paypal . Item will be shipped only after we receive confirmed payment.

      Sales Tax

      All Pennsylvania buyers are required to pay 6% sales tax (on sales price + S&H).

      Return/Refund

      Customer satisfaction is very important for us. If you do not like the product we will refund your money within 7 days for unopened box. 20% restocking charge will be applied on opened box. If product is not working properly then we will help you resolve the issue or exchange the item within 30 days. After this period manufacture warranty will take effect.

      For refund or exchange, buyer will have to pay for return shipping charges. In case of refund, we will refund the sale price of the item only (S&H charges will not be refunded). Please send us email for Return Authorization before sending the item back to us.

      International Buyers

      We are happy to sell this weather station to international buyers. Please make sure that CarChip Pro is compatible with your car before before bidding or buying. Because of high shipping cost, we will not able to refund/return on this item. Buyers will be responsible for Custom duty/tax and clearing the item from Customs, if required.
