 1958 DeSotoFINS & FIRE Firesweep

$1.00 RAFFLE TICKET PRIZE!!

RARE & Original Show Condition with under 24,000 single-family owned miles!

*RAFFLE WINNER* This 1958 DeSoto Firesweep is a 1-owner, single family car that was originally won on a dollar raffle ticket at the Vasa Park Swedish Picnic on Lake Sammamish, Issaquah, WA in 1958. This car has a delivery date of 7/28/58 from the Lew Pabst DeSoto Dealership of Issaquah, WA. After winning the car, Uncle Al kept the car garaged and only drove occasionally and on special occasions; such as when relatives visited from Norway. After his death in 1971, ownership went to another family member where it was kept in heated garage storage and again, rarely driven, and then parked for many years. It was then passed down to his middle aged son who now owns the car. A few years ago the car was taken to a professional restoration shop where the fuel tank was removed and flushed, the gas lines cleaned and carburetor rebuilt. The original plugs were cleaned, fresh gas added and the car fired right up after so many years. All brakes, belts, etc, were professionally checked and still in amazing condition. Less than 1,000 miles has been put on since then. This summer it was taken to a local car meet (where photos were taken) and it attracted lots of interest with its low miles, shiny chrome and striking design. It has never been formally shown any any shows, but is truely a great survivor, a genuine & well preserved "time capsule" of the big fin & chrome era of automobiles. *No raffle now needed, you too can be the ultimate "winner" by becoming the new owner of this quality investment DeSoto Firesweep, ready to drive away & enjoy!

The present owner has original car manuals, some receipts and other documentation of the ownership and extremely low mileage of under 24,000 miles. This car has not been altered, touched or detailed as you can see by the dust still under the hood. This car has never been wrecked or altered… you can only get original factory condition once... this is not a restoration vehicle. The car runs smooth and straight, the plastic seat covers still protect the all original interior. I have taken a close up underneath too, all original condition.

I am assisting the owner, who is a family friend, with the sale of this car. Any questions can be relayed to owner and will be responded to. Please ask questions before bidding. Due to the rarity and condition of this car, insurance value was estimated at $30,000.00 to $35,000.00. The present car market is soft and is a great time to purchase a true “Investment Quality” type vehicle such as this one. Reserve priced low & realistic to present market as owner needs to sell. You cannot buy an inferior & lower grade car and make it original again, nor can you start rebuilding, painting, chroming, etc without spending much, much more, than this quality investment is being offered at. The paint is shiny, the chrome is shiny, no pitting or rust on vehicle, the gauges all work, the interior is immaculate… the photos should speak for themselves, even though I am not a professional photographer. This is a rare, investment grade vehicle.

1958 DeSoto FIRESWEEP: Original 2-Tone Paint ROSE BEIGE with AUTUMN RUST These cars came with lots of chrome, and this was a beauty as you cans see by the photos. This model came equipped in 1958 with the powerful 361 Mopar Wedge V8, rated at 305 HP. The car has unique push-button dash control automatic with 2 speed PowerFlite transmission.    Everything you see is original vintage to car and still in shiny & immaculate condition.

Terms of Sale: This is a private party sale sold as shown and without any seller or dealer warranty. It is a vintage car with documented & actual low miles. There are no know mechanical or damaged areas of car but all cars should be inspected prior to any purchase. Please ask questions prior to bidding as all sales are final. Buyer to pay a $1500- non-refundable deposit upon purchase, with balance due in full within 5 days; unless prior arrangements approved by seller. Buyer is fully responsible for all transportation costs. I can assist with  reasonable USA or International transport bids if desired. Thank you & Good Luck Bidding!!

Questions and answers about this item
Q: are there any leaks, rust in floor or trunk ? any pics of car under carrage ? thank you
A: This DeSoto has ALWAYS been in a heated home garage since new. There is NO RUST guaranteed!! What you see in one under photo at exhaust is aged metal, light rusty colored on the surface, typical for any 50+ year old metal... Continue reading
