1959 Dodge Coronet
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Up for sale is my 1959 Dodge Coronet 4 door. It has a 326 Poly Block (one year only) connected to a push button automatic. Two tone White and Green. This is one beautiful old cruiser that is ready to be driven and enjoyed. Whoever ends up with this is going to have a lot of fun with it. The car runs and drives beautifully and passed strict MA inspection in June this year. The car drives nicely down the road with a lot of power. I have a 57 Plymouth that after years of restoration and thousands of dollars still isn’t as quick or as solid going down the road as this car, no exaggeration. This dodge has had new tires put on and a new water pump installed within the past year and a new battery installed just this week. The biggest thing about this car is the fact it does not have the usual rust issues these 57-61 Mopars are known for even in the usual problem spots. It came up to the Northeast from North Carolina a few years ago and was not a rot box to start with. The car was painted about a year ago or so and looks great. It isn’t a Concours quality paint job but it is more than nice enough to take to cruise nights and local shows and enjoy. As the pictures show, it sure shines up nicely. The car has a dual exhaust with glass packs on it that are not too loud but sound great under acceleration. The interior is in nice original condition. The back seat is in beautiful condition as are the door panels and the front seat is in good condition with a few places where the fabric has separated. I have a piece of similar looking fabric over it and no one can tell the difference. All of the windows go up and down smoothly and all of the doors open and close with no issues. The odometer shows 99,596 and according to the title it has gone around once already. The car comes with an original 1959 Dodge owner’s manual. This car can be driven and enjoyed as is. There are only a few minor issues the car has in its current state. The brake pedal does pulse when you hit them above 15 miles an hour although the car stops with no problems. I have not driven the car above 65 mph recently and would suggest addressing this issue before anyone does. I am fairly positive turning the brake drums should solve this problem and I will do my best to get this done by the end of the auction. If I am unable to do so I will take $200 off the final auction price so the winning bidder can have the drums turned by their own local mechanic at no cost to themselves. There is also a weak spot of partially rusted metal in the trunk that is about 3”x4”. You could patch it or just leave it alone and I doubt it would make much difference.There is also a small metal ripple on the driver’s side rear door (see picture). You have to look for it, but I want to be as thorough as possible. Car can be a bit cold blooded but purrs (or roars) once it warms up. Other then these minor issues the car needs nothing. It really is a beautiful 50s gem from the heart of the fin era. I have way too many cars and not enough time for them all. This will be a great car for someone to enjoy and it would be hard to beat the price for a running driving late 50s cruiser you can enjoy right away. I have taken over 70 high quality photos that show almost every detail of the car that can be found by following the link below. This car is listed with a very reasonable reserve. On Nov-04-09 at 16:08:13 PST, seller added the following information: I canceled a zero feedback bidder who did not contact me prior to bidding. From this point forth I will cancel any zero feedback bidders with no questions asked. It is too late in the auction to play games. Thank you for all of the interest and good luck bidding! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
