1968 was the inaugural year for the Dodge Superbee.  The Superbee was Dodges answer to the Roadrunner and It was a beautiful restyle, with crisp chiseled lines not previously seen on the Coronet body style. And it had only one engine option...the top dawg 426 Hemi with dual 4 barrel carbs. To say a 1968 Hemi Bee is rare is an understament; just 94 Hemi Automatics equipped Superbees were built in 1968 as distinguished by the "J" in the 5th position in the VIN.

This auction is for a 1968 Hemi Superbee, original J code, bench seat, auto, F8 Green over black with white stinger. Service Replacement Block with Non original 727 Torqueflight in the car and the original  trans. out of the car included in sale. This is one of those origianl 94 "J" code Hemi Bees and was inspected by Galen Govier and is in the Chrysler Registry. Its provenance is uncontrovertible. I bought this car a few years back and have done nothing but throw money at it and have done very little driving.

I know the history of this car back to the original owner and it is a 41K mile car, a lot of it a 1/4 miles at a time! The car was painted by a previous owner back in the early 1990s and is a quality base coat clear coat finish. He replaced all the glass with the rear and front being NOS and the side glass are from a donor car. He picked up many NOS parts including Headlight Bezels, Tail Lights, Gas Tank, sending unit and straps, marker lights, door handles and trunk mat. The  bumpers were rechromed and the front seat was “repaired”. The seat covers front and rear are the originals. The carpet was replaced and armrests as well. Aesthetically,  the car is a very nice driver...I would say a very strong #3.

I added the correct Hemi only painted 15"steelies and dog dish caps on Goodyear Bias Ply redlines; the wheel well trim; reproduction exhaust manifolds, H pipe, Mufflers axle overs and Resonators, all with correct part numbers, and the exhaust tips; new fuel lines and fuel vaporizer; a set of "clone" AFB carbs for driving built by Dick Katner out of VA; an Original Aircleaner assembly, and I detailed the motor and engine bay. I have an original dual point distributor which will be included as I planed to install it and remove the electronic ignition.

The car needs to be driven and tuned for the street. It has a cam, a loose converter and a manual valve body in the trans that is in the car.  I welcome inspections prior to the close of the auction.

In the interest of saving your time and mine, allow me to say that I have not lost my job and I am not desperate...just thinning the herd...too many cars, not enough time...if the car sells fine, if not I will sell something else. This is probably the last time I am going to list it on ebay and I will consign it to a major auction house if it does not sell. THERE IS NO RESERVE AND YOU CAN STEAL THIS CAR FOR THE OPENING BID! This was a 90K car a few years ago and will be again in a few years.

My opening bid is significantly less than the NADA Collector Car estimate of $96,700.00 for this bonafide  blue chip investment. If you want an real Hemi Mopar with a very intesreting history then this car is for you.

The car is to be paid for within 72 hours of the conclusion of the auction. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
