What it does is add traction and improve the ride quality on the 848/1098/1198.

How does it do this?

The OEM link is made to be used by either a solo rider or two up, a rider with passenger. To do both of these Ducati uses a very "Progressive' link. This means as the rear suspension is compressed it becomes stiffer and stiffer, but not at a linear rate but at a progressive rate. For a solo rider this means the bike cannot use all of its suspension travel. This is why you lose traction, instaed of the suspension it stops and the tire spins.

Our link makes it much more Linear, allowing you to use all the suspension travel. Better Ride, more traction, better "feel"

Do I need to do anything else?

Yes, you will need a shorter ride height adjuster. We have the Sato Height adjuster at $105

You will need to shorten the rear shock, we shorten the Ohlins TTX36 series shocks, we can do any of them, the standard DU788 is what we sell, and recommend. We have the DU788 in stock, as well as all the parts needed to shorten them.

You will need to change the spring rate, the link requires the spring rate to be changed, we go 3 steps stiffer than what you would use on the shock with the stock link.  We have springs in stock.

We like to change the Valving spec in the shock, it is a small change, but it is what works BEST, that is why we do it. We have specs for the TTX36 shocks. We use one spec with the OEM length swingarm and another spec with the longer aftermarket Race swingarm.

The cost to shorten the shock, change the valving on a DU788 shock is $200. If it is a different TTX36 other parts may be needed.

An Ohlins spring is $105, or itf you are purchasing a DU788 from us there is no cha=rge for the spring change.
