This is my first sportbike - I'm 54 - and I've had a blast on it. I believe I'm the second owner; I picked up this bike when it had a mere 439 miles on it. At its 600 mile service I put new belts on it (less than two years ago at a Ducati dealer) and more recently tires (Pilot Powers ) that have less than 200 miles on them. The bike has never been down. I'm selling it because I've bought another Ducati (an 1198). I'm motivated to sell this and the reserve price reflects it; on the other hand, the Buy It Now price is an absolute steal.
Along the way I added a new, Termignoni stainless FULL SYSTEM (not slip ons!). This was the kit that also included the proper air filters, right footpeg extension, and carbon fiber exhaust shields. It was the 999S kit (the base 999 kit was impossible to find) so I didn't use the 999S ECU and the 999S ECU is not included in this auction. Instead I added a PCIII and had the authorized Dynojet tuning done by Mickey Cohen at Micky Cohen Motorsports (TPS adjustment by dealer). Both the Termis and the PCIII are for racing use only. The exhaust is a tight fit near the swing arm and one trick the installers do is use just one bolt, not two, where the fairing attaches underneath at the front, and it is installed that way. The right rear DZUS fastner point is also spread out slightly to accommodate the exhaust. You'd never know it unless you were underneath the bike.
It's all reversible; in case you wish to revert to stock, the original exhaust is also included (not pictured).
Defects are minor: the tank protector has done its job and has some scuffing (it's replaceable). The front fairing has some wear through the paint at the very bottom tip at the leading edge. This is from a front wheel chock that scraped the fairing at that point. Hard to notice. A couple of the small underside attachment bolts on the spare, stock exhaust broke during removal but no big deal to fix/work around if you choose to reinstall the stock exhaust. Finally, the top edge of the steering head has several nicks from when I changed the steering angle (a cool feature on the 999). It is basically covered by the triple clamp. That's about it!
All keys (two black, one red), key card, original tool kit, and owner's manual are included. PC III software and assorted maps (including Cohen map) included.
Deposit of $500 must be made by Paypal within 72 hours of the close of auction. Full payment, by US bank cashier's check for balance, must be made within seven days of the close of auction. Pick up should be made within two weeks or I'll work with your shipper. Motorcycle is sold "AS IS" and "WHERE IS" with no warranties express or implied. Inspections on October 31 and November 1, 7, 8 and possibly other days, but all times only by appointment. Just contact me through Ebay for details. No test rides. Bike is listed for sale elsewhere therefore I reserve the right to end this auction early.
If bike doesn't sell from this listing I will probably remove the exhaust and PCIII and return the bike to stock configuration, then sell everything separately.
Check my feedback; I'm the kind of seller you want to deal with! Good luck!
