Start, run and tune your engine before installing it into your car. I am a muscle car hobbiest, and like most, I have limited garage space for storing large equipment. I designed this engine start/test stand so that I could be sure my rebuilt engines were ready to run before installing into my newly restored cars. When I first looked around for starter stands, I couldn't find anything inexpensive or collapsable. With some tube steel, a drill and a welder (you must be able to weld), you can build one of these in a weekend. When I first designed and built this stand a couple of years ago, the materials cost me about $50 (it's probably closer to $100 now). This stand collapses to less than 9" deep to be stored against a wall or in a corner out of the way. It can be adapted to fit most V8 car engines (I've run my Ford Cleveland engine shown in the picture and also my 454 Chevelle engine on it). The wheels are designed to extend out on each side for a wider base for higher torqueing engines. This auction is for a complete set of plans to build this engine stand. These are plans only - no materials, parts or engines included. Plans include all dimensions, instructions, materials required, illustrations and pictures. There are 21 pages of plans and instructions, including a wiring diagram and materials list. Plans are in PDF format and will be emailed to you upon receipt of payment (allow 1 to 5 days, as I sometimes travel). You will also receive a link to my web site with several photos of my stand for reference. If you are unable to print the plans, I can print and mail the plans to you for an additional $6.00 (U.S. only). The plans print on 8 1/2"x11" pages, a total of 21 pages. You must contact me and let me know that you wish to have printed plans prior to paying. I have priced this item low as I am more interested in supporting the home auto enthusiest than in making a lot of money (but a little extra money isn't a bad thing). Furthermore, I accept no responsibility or liability for the functionality, craftsmanship or structural integrity of a stand that is built from these plans. I can only testify that I have built and used this stand to start and run my Ford and Chevy V8 engines without any problems. You will be responsible for the craftmanship and functionality of the stand built from these plans. Contact me with any questions you might have. I prefer payments with Paypal, but will also accept a certified check or money order. |
