The Head-up boresight alignment tool I'm selling is for the F-15 Eagle.   The F-15 Eagle is an all-weather tactical fighter designed to gain and maintain air superiority in aerial combat. It was developed for the U.S. Air Force, and first flew in July 1972.  The F-15's maneuverability is derived from low wing loading with a high thrust-to-weight ratio enabling the aircraft to turn tightly without losing airspeed.  And talk about brute power... The F-15 can climb from sea-level to 30,000 feet in around 60 seconds. The thrust output of the dual engines is greater than the aircraft's weight, thus making it one of few planes in the word capable of accelerating in a vertical climb. 

The weapons and flight control systems of the F-15 Eagle are designed so that one person can safely and effectively perform air-to-air combat.  The F-15's multi-mission avionics system includes a head-up display (HUD), advanced radar, inertial guidance system (INS), flight instruments, ultra high frequency (UHF) communications, and Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) and Instrument Landing System (ILS) receivers. It also has an internally mounted, tactical electronic-warfare system, "identification friend or foe" system, electronic countermeasures suite and a central digital computer.  The Alignment tool I'm selling (Pictured Above) is used to align the boresight of the head-up display of the F-15 Eagle.

The government paid $53,267.48 for the Head-up boresight alignment tool that I am selling.  Here's the kicker - How many F-15 aficionados do you know that own a $50,000.00 F-15 tool?  And furthermore, even if you wanted to own something like this where would you find it???   Well now you know!

This yellow tag shows that the alignment tool went in for repair in December 1995.

This form shows the weight of the alignment tool & packaging as 52 pounds and volume as 5.1 cubic feet.

Note:  This tool is being sold for it's value as a piece of F-15 collectable memorabilia - It's not intended to be used for boresight alignment.  It doesn't come with any sort of instructions or manuals - other than what you see in the tags on the side of the tool, and the tool has been "De-Milled"

The U.S. Air Force plans to keep the F-15 in service until 2025.   Because the F-15 is still in service, the opportunity to buy an actual F-15 related part or tool doesn't come along very often, especially one this clean.  The head-up display of the F-15 is legendary and you can own the principle tool for it's alignment for less than a penny on the dollar - just $499.00
