1971 Fiat 500L
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
For Sale is a rare 1971 Fiat 500 L. This Fiat 500 was imported from Catania, Sicily in 2005. This car is nearly 40 Years and it looks like new. This Fiat 500 was completely stripped down to bare metal and redone. The body was painted a deep Blue (almost black in appearance). Almost everything on this Fiat was replaced with brand-new parts when the car was re-assembled. This vehicle has no history of rust or other body damage. All work was completed in Sicily by a professional body shop that knows these vehicles very well. This Fiat 500 is a US-registered car and has a clean and clear Texas vehicle title. This Fiat 500 has a 650cc (2-cylinder air-cooled) engine with a 4-speed (synchronized) gearbox. When the body was redone in Sicily the engine and gearbox were also rebuilt. The engine starts right up and idles very well. The sport-tuned exhaust produces a subtle rumble that makes this small engine sound powerful. The fuel system was flushed and a new fuel filter installed, a new cap and rotor were installed, ignition points adjusted, and the ignition timing reset. Midnight blue with red interior and cloth sunroof opens by hand. New 650cc engine with 4 speed transmission, all boots, and everything was replaced including new dash, new gauges, steering wheel, abarth exhaust. All new rear and front brakes and brake lines, rear suspension, coil springs and shocks. Along with Both outer tie rod ends, both inner tie rod ends, the center steering link, an idler arm or bushings for it, all of the upper control arm bushings, and front shock absorbers. The gas tank was replaced with a new tank when the car was redone. The hydraulic and mechanical braking systems were entirely redone and work very well. All mechanical control cables have been replaced. There are no known issues with the vehicle at this time. The exterior of this Fiat 500 is in beautiful condition. The deep blue metallic paint is almost black in appearance. The sunroof, like most items on this Fiat is like brand new as is the sunroof framework and closing handle. The negatives: The rear bumper got dented which occurred when the vehicle was been loaded for shipment to Texas. This Fiat is in outstanding condition and always draws a crowd where ever it goes... it's stunning to look at. The custom 13" Speedline one-piece wheels and tires are new in condition. All glass is in very good condition as the rubber, chrome, mirrors, and badges all replace. All lights and light lenses have also been replaced with new recently in August before passing the Texas state safety inspection. The entire interior has been completely redone with new carpet, seats, door panels, rear rubber seat strap, sun visors, and power windows. The door handles and the dash were replaced with new gauges. There is also a custom AM/FM/CD high powered stereo system with a flip down face, 2 speakers in the front (in doors), two speakers in the rear. This system has the ability to produce a very loud and clear output... something that you never expect from a car of this size. The entire electrical system has been completely replaced and updated with new wiring and fuse blocks. The battery is also new. The original electrical generator has been upgraded to an alternator-based system. All lighting and electrical features function as they should without any issues. Conclusion This vehicle has been completely redone and is in exceptional condition, cosmetically and mechanically. This vehicle is garage kept and is driven on a regular basis every week, as long as it is not raining. It always attracts a crowd when parked! The odometer reads 282 km from the time the engine was rebuilt, this is a rare & unique collector car that will only increase in value, so don't miss this opportunity. Before there was a Mini or Smart car, they had the Fiat. No other like it in this condition, lots of fun to drive and a fixed investment. A one of a kind, search around you will not find another like it in this condition. Very nice crowd pleaser.
