1978 Ford F-150
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Up for sale is a 1978 Ford F 150. I am putting the truck up for auction for a friend, who is the 3rd owner of the truck and has had it for 5 years. This was basically a stock 4 wheel drive that he custom built all the suspension for. The motor is a 400 with a new crank, bearings, oil pump, and a mild cam. The exhaust is true duals that come off of Hooker headers into 3 inch pipe. The transmission is a stock "bulldog" 4 speed. The rear ends are 1 ton Dana 60's with Detroit lockers, front and rear with 4.10 ratios. The truck rides on 16" inch Atlas springs and Bilstein 7100 series prerunner remote reservoir shocks, 4 in front and 2 in the rear. The steering is a crossover setup from Off Road Unlimited along with dual steering stabilizers. The truck also has traction bars that were custom made. The tires are 49" Super Swamper IROKs mounted on 16.5" Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels. The interior is basically stock aside from a Sony Xplod CD player. The body is very solid aside from a small amout of rust over the bedsides. The truck has a chrome double single roll bar with 4 working lights. The cowl hood is fiberglass. This is a very solid, well built truck that was used as a 4 wheel drive was intended. It was never abused but has definitely seen its share of off road time. The truck was built for the off road though and has never failed when put to the test. If you're looking for a show truck, look on. But if you're looking for an extremely reliable, off road capable truck, look no further. On Nov-05-09 at 10:03:00 PST, seller added the following information: I've had some questions from people on why there isn't a front driveline in the truck, so I'll try to clear it up. If you look closely, you'll notice the pinion on the front rear end is at a pretty extreme angle. The truck had two different drivelines in it but due to that angle it broke them both. The truck needs a double CV driveline to compensate for the angle on both ends. However, due to the price of those drivelines and the fact that the truck performed just fine off road as a two wheel drive, one was never installed. The guy that owns the truck and myself have been around it so long without the driveline in it that its kind of common to us now so neither he nor myself thought anything about it when we were writing up the description of the truck. I'm sorry if theres been any confusion about the matter, we weren't attempting to mislead anyone. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
