1963 FORD GALAXIE 500 XL 390-427 BIG BLOCK 4 SPEED!!!! Estate sale , selling a 1963 Galaxie 500 XL 2 Dr. H.T. big block 390-427 V-8 4 Speed for the wife of a long time Ford lover. This was a special order car, came with manual stearing and brakes, rain gutters, dual mirrors, rocker panel moldings, long center of hood ornament. Factory 4 speed transmission. The lady said that her late husband bought it years ago and almost finished it. Motor was completely redone several years ago and according to her does not have 1,000 miles on it. It's either a 390 with a lot of goodies or a 427. I don't know which. Intake says 427, has a hugh 4V carb 850 ,C.F.M. hooker super competition headers, exhaust pipes stop half way under, must have a cam, sure sounds like it. Bumpers are brand new, the trim looks like it's in nice shape. The hood ornament, rocker panel moldings , and trunk lid moldings are not on car. I think that he never got around to finishing them. Also the chrome on the side of the roof needs to be done.. Lights and gauges, some work ,some don't. New owner will have to finish. red and white interior Is drive quality and should be done. Package tray is shot, just laid it in there for you to see. Padded dash has what looks like a cut about 6" long. Carpet is nice. Transmission is fine but the bushings on the shifter are sloppy and need to be changed. $19.00 for the kit. This is probably one of the biggest, baddest sounding big block Ford FE motors I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Zero rust car, I put car on lift to install new heavy duty starter motor and was pleasantly surprised at how clean the floors and frame were. The widow told me years ago that her husband had the frame pressure washed, still looks good. I am sure I missed a few things, the widow has set a low reserve, just wants car to go to a good home. Sold as is, where is, with no warranties expressed or implied. Buyer arranges shipping . Payment in full must be made within 3 days of end of auction.Certified bank checks only.
