Okay - get out your checkbooks!  You are looking at one of the rarest, most desirable first generation Mustangs ever made - a 1966 Mustang GT K Code with the legendary 271 horsepower 289 v8 motor!  Who ever ordered this pony back in 66 knew how to full out an option sheet - she is loaded with GT performace package, deluxe pony interior, 8 track stereo, console, power top, 3.50 posi rear, close ratio 4 speed, disk brakes, luggage rack, and Tahoe Turquise paint.  I have seen a lot of K codes, but I am not sure I have ever seen one with all these options - it makes the car the ultimate in style and performance.  I have owned this car for about 3 years, I purchased it from the man in New York who had the car resored at a well known shop in Idaho.  The complete nut and bolt restoration was completed in 2004 - every single part on this car was either refinished or replaced. 

Drivetrain

The car still has its ORIGINAL NUMBERS MATCHING DRIVE TRAIN!  The VIN is stamped on the block, the VIN is also on the transmission case, and all the parts are date coded correct.  When the car was restored, the original 289 was rebuilt with all correct K Code internals and returned to factory specs, the transmission was also rebuilt to close ratio specs.  The HIPO heads were also rebuilt at that time.  The motor has an orginal HIPO 4 blade fan, correct distributor, correct freshly recently rebuilt Autolite 4100 with manual choke, correct HIPO exhaust manifolds, 9 inch HIPO Ford rear with correct 3.50 posi gears, brand new clutch, and correct rebuilt ford shifter with rebuilt shift controller.  The car runs a drives as good as it looks.  The engine fires up with no smoke and idles smooth.  The car has the power you would expect from a K-Code, it shifts through the gears and has great stopping power with the front disk brakes.

Exterior

Although this car was restored over 4 years ago, it looks like it just rolled out of the paint shop yesterday.  The car is Laser straight, all body panel line up perfectly. I believe this to be an orginal body panel car - there is no evidence of replacement of the quarters, fenders, and doors.  The Dupont paint job is excellent - smooth as glass with tons of shine.  All the chrome was replaced an is in perfect shape.  The correct GT wheels with trim rings are all brand new, and the 4 new dual red line tires have less than 500 miles on them.  The black top was replaced and is in excellent shape - the rear plastic window is crystal clear with absolutely no scratches or haze at all.  All the glass is original, and the windows roll up and down effortlessly. 

Interior

Everything in the interior of this car has been restored or replaced.  All new pony seat covers and foam, new dashpad, instrument bezel, restored ORIGINAL 8k Rally pack, glove box door, windshield chrome, etc.
