1940 GMC Pickup

We are here for you at MotoeXotica (SRS Enterprises, Inc.)Classic Cars and will ensure your online buying experience will be a pleasurable one from start to finish. We are now in our 10th year selling on Ebay with over 1,300 positive feedbacks! MotoeXotica was one of the Pioneer Classic Car dealers on Ebay and have seen a lot of dealers come and go. We have a brick and mortar 30,000 sq. ft. building on 5 acres in St. Louis, MO to serve you; we like to sell our cars the same way as we would like to purchase them, fairly and honestly. We ask for a nominal $500.00 credit card deposit and give you a 7 day grace period to inspect the car. If you find the car not to your liking we will refund your deposit with no questions asked should you get here and not like the vehicle.

We all know that the financial times right now are tough. With the stock market being so volatile and investments becoming less valuable, many people are turning to the classic car market to invest their money. Putting your money into a hard asset that you can enjoy everyday is becoming a very popular option, especially now when the marketplace is lower then it’s been in many years. We invite you to put your money into a vehicle that is fun to own and brings back memories of when you were younger.

We offer financing through two of the best lenders in the industry. If you visit www.jjbest.com or www.woodsidecredit.com they are currently offering very attractive rates for all collector and special interest automobiles. With loan amounts from $10,000 to $500,000, and flexible terms of up to 12 years, you can get financed for as low as 6.99%.

We have recently started to offer some of our cars at a Fixed "Buy It Now" Price on Ebay. If you would like to send us a reasonable offer, please feel free to do so by clicking on the blue "Make Offer" button. We will promptly get back to you with an answer. We have found that many people don't have the time of want to get involved in the auction process. We are hoping this will make it easier for you to purchase the car of your dreams!

Please feel free to contact us at anytime during the duration of the auction as many of our vehicles are sold through our dealership before the Ebay auction ends.

In 1901, Max Grabowsky established a company called the "Rapid Motor Vehicle Company", which developed some of the earliest commercial trucks ever designed. In 1909, the company was purchased by General Motors to form the basis for the General Motors Truck Company, from which GMC Truck was derived.

Another independent manufacturer purchased by GM that same year was Reliance Motor Car Company. Rapid & Reliance were merged in 1911, and in 1912 the marque "GMC Truck" was first shown at the New York International Auto Show. Some 22,000 trucks were produced that year, though GMC's contribution to that total was a mere 372 units.

In 1936 GMC substantially increased its number of dealerships with the addition of well chosen sales outlets in every area they were in. For the first time GMC brought out a complete line of light duty trucks to supply the increasing demand for equipment in their capacity range.

This particular truck that you see here is a 1940 GMC Series 150 ¾ ton pick up truck. This is a fully restored truck that needs nothing to enjoy on the weekends or just around your favorite piece of property. The original 228 Cu In six cylinder has been replaced with an updated 235 Cu In six cylinder that runs great and gives you more power then the stock engine and it runs great. This truck has spent it’s entire life in the dry state of California and was brought to Illinois in 2003.

The paint on the truck is in great condition with no major imperfections to be found. There are a few scuffs to the top of the fenders from the hood coming down on it but these are not major. There are also some scratches to the front of the sun shade that were caused from the hood. Both front and rear bumpers are in good shape with no damage or major pitting showing to either. The front grill looks great and has a brilliant shine to it. The wood bed is newer and shows no rot.

Inside, the seat has been reupholstered and looks very good with no major wear. There has been an updated stereo installed that works with no problems. The door panels and dash have both been painted to match the exterior of the truck. The steering wheel is solid with no cracking. There has been an aftermarket temperature gauge installed under the dash. Lights, blinkers and horn all work with no problems.

Under the hood, the original 228 Cu In 6 cylinder has been replaced with a newer, 235 Cu In 6 cylinder. This is connected to a 4 speed manual transmission that shifts with no problems. The truck starts right up with a push of the pedal and goes down the road with no problems. I wouldn’t suggest taking cross country trips in the truck, but for around town, it’s a ton of fun. A good cruising speed for the truck is around 50 mph.

The under side is very solid with no rot that we have seen. The bed is solid and has been freshly refinished and sealed. This truck is titled as a 1945 GMC with a VIN number on the firewall of B22865981 which does match the title. This truck is a 1940 Model though and has a VIN number on the frame of AC1526057 which is correct for this period and truck. Titling will not be an issue as the title does match the VIN tag on the firewall.
