1953 was the first year that GMC started producing these pickups with its automatic GMC Hydra-Matic Transmission. These are very rare because only about 2200 were manufactured and most of the ones I've seen have been modified. Has a 228 motor, 6 volt battery. This is a great restorable truck not a rust bucket, but I just do not have enough time to restore it. Everything on it is original except for new wheels, tires, exhaust, and shocks. The gauges (except mileage), lights, heat, windows, and wipers all work. Do not know how many miles are actually on the truck because that gauge does not work. Truck runs great; haven't put 200 miles on it since I bought it in 2004. True farm find!
