Vehicle History Report Summary for 1999 GMC Savana 3500
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This 1999 GMC van is a factory conversion mini-bus from the Savanna 3500 1-ton cargo van. This was originally used by New York State Department of Corrections to haul prisoners for road crew details and other transport purposes. The body was trimmed at the beltline from the B-post back and replaced with a high-top flat-side school-bus type conversion including a new rear bulkhead. It has belts for up to 14 passengers on benches running the length of the body in the rear. These benches double as storage compartments when the seat is lifted. School bus type side windows. It appears these were built from finished vans; this one has had it's bus-type door opener removed and the door operates normally, and it appears to have all provisions to re-install a passenger front seat if desired (I would be willing to get a seat and belts for $150 extra, no guarantee on a color match). Suitable for church, daycare, or other people-hauling use, camper conversion, or would convert easily to a work vehicle to haul anything from antiques to junk. Frame is unaltered and uses stock rear bumper, a class III/IV hitch will bolt right on if desired. Mechanically this has the Vortec 350 V8 engine, runs excellent, recent oil change. 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission. Power steering, hydroboost power brakes. Frame is unaltered and will accept a trailer hitch if desired. Drives well, stops well, will need tires to pass a safety inspection. Interior fair, could stand some cleaning. Needs some attention to the window tracks in both doors. Everything else works as intended - radio, heater, lights - needs a radio antenna though. Minor rust issues below and over rear door, which have some past state-done repairs. Overall very solid and in good shape. Seems to get about 15 MPG in mixed city/highway driving, which isn't too bad for a 1-ton truck, I'm sure that big flat face on the top hurts the milage some. Price-wise, I see a 99 GMC work van with similar miles recently sold on eBay for about $2400, and another seller has a 2000 mini-bus just like this that was previously bid to $4500 and did not meet reserve (lower milage and in somewhat better shape, including original paint). I've priced this reasonably; if it sells, it sells, if not I may keep it to drive it myself. It has plenty of get up and go and will do 70-75 pretty quickly, particularly for a vehicle shown as 5900 lbs on the title. Other than the tires, I would not worry about driving it most anywhere. The legal stuff: Title: Has clear New York State title (enroute to me via the mail as I had to put this vehicle into my name to bring it home). Terms of sale are: $300 deposit due 5 days from end of auction, paid in full within 14 days from end of auction. Deposit nonrefundable - eBay nationwide listings aren't free. Don't bid if you can't pay. No cashier's checks, no Paypal, and check payment must clear the bank before the car is picked up. 30 days storage is included to come get the car. More time can be arranged at a reasonable rate (on this vehicle $100 per month), and we do not penalize buyers if weather conditions (snow) prevent access to the vehicle. If car is left an excessive amount of time and buyer cannot be contacted they will be subject to a storage charge. Email for more details. These photos are self hosted and may take time to load particularly on a dial-up connection as they're purposely larger than the standard eBay photo size purposely to allow bidders to better judge the vehicle.
On Nov-05-09 at 21:39:15 PST, seller added the following information: Located the RPO code sticker. While damaged I am able to make out the G80 code for a locking or limited slip differential, and the JB8 code for power brakes rated for 10,000 lbs. There also is a ZX1 code indicating this was only equipped with a left front high back bucket seat. It appears when this was painted green they may have wiped it down with a solvent or prep cleaner even though the doorjams were never cut in. On Nov-09-09 at 10:24:38 PST, seller added the following information: If bids reach $3000 or so, I'd be willing to take this up and buy a set of new tires for it. I can also install a radio from what I have on-hand and straighten out/install the antenna. In the interest of full disclosure, I have put a couple hundred more miles on it, it drives very well and has been handy the last few days. I haven't found any other issues with it. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
