One of the nicest 1966 GMC suburban's around!  This truck was tastefully re-done in 2001 and I have owned it for two and half years. 

In the last auction everyone wanted to know the reserve, but nobody wanted to bid.  This truck is worth much more than 6,500.00 or 7,000 or 8,000.00.  Please do your research and expect to pay a realistic price if your a realistic buyer, Your time is valuable and so is mine.  As I stated below the truck was appraised at 17,500.00 2 1/2 years ago as it sits, and then I added the wheels and the rear tires and suspension work.  The reserve is set at 16,000.00 if this ball park isn't realistic for you please don't bid...I am not going to sell this truck for 10,000 dollars.

This truck is obviously not show truck perfect, it is however extremely clean with no rust and mechanically extremely sound and reliable.  The parts for these trucks are rare and expensive when you find them.  It would cost you twice as much as I am asking to build this truck.

Mechanical:

9,000 miles on a crate 454 High output motor from GM backed by a rebuilt smooth shifting turbo 400 automatic with posi-traction 4:10 rear end.  The entire truck was re-wired using an autowire kit with a modern fuse block.  It has power disk brakes (This truck stops on a dime) with drums in the rear.  Digital speedometer encompassed in nice Voo-doo gauge cluster.  Nice big aluminum radiatior with dual electric fans---This truck runs at 175 all the time and on a hot, hot summer day in traffic it will only get to 210.  Super reliable truck.  Headers with true dual exhuast.

The heater box is a brand new re-build but is not hooked up and there are no control cables for the levers.  Also the parking brake needs to be adjusted.

Body:  NO RUST!!!!!!!  This was a southern california original truck and I am the third owner.  The paint is nearly ten years old and shines new (Alway's garaged since re-done).  It has two blemishes in the body, one being in the passenger door and the other being at the rear light on the passenger side (see pictures, I bought the truck this way).  The chrome is in excellent shape as well as all the stainless trim, no dings or pitting!  The glass is in great shape with no cracks.

The rubber around the doors and window is in great shape and not cracking. 

Interior:  Perfect condition with stock front seat and rear seat.  In addition I have the middle seat (hard to find) that has to be upholstered) that will go with the truck.  The steering column is out of 1972 chevy truck with the tilt option.  It has a CD player and nice kick panel speakers.  The floor and half way up the sides are rhino lined, looks great and functional also.

Tires: brand new rear tires and the rims are 15X8 mickey thompson classics, brand new. 

In August I put brand new 3/4 truck front springs in the front and stock shackles in the rear.  Sits at stock height---Really awesome muscle truck stance!

Guys.... I could go on and on about this truck.  I looked at tons of these before I bought this one...Even with the (2) body blemishes, This truck is one of the nicest looking, driving sounding rigs out there...especially in the GMC, which are harder to come by than the chevrolet's.  Just a super functional, fun to drive truck....That get's a thumbs up every you take it.
